I will help along the FB thing, but I don't see it succeeding. No sense arguing having a FB account or not, I can't blame anyone for not having one, you aren't missing anything except drama in your life...Out of curiosity, have they said what this 3rd tome does, all I have seen is its the most powerful...ok great but powerful as in what? I mean if it just makes my character more attractive for romances, when I typically don't do the romances then my caring factor would decrease significantly lol.

It creates runes to use for enchanting.

You can share just with yourself, as was stated like 5 posts ago.  I just tried it, and it works fine.

From the sounds of things, we just need to share it (liking is optional) and it needs to acquire a certain number of "views" as well.

But I could be wrong.  They didn't explain this very well IMO.  Or maybe my total ignorance of just about everything Facebook is the problem.  No clue.

5 posts ago at some point, I'm sure.  I read the first and last pages and saw no mention of it, but then I imagine the thread is updating pretty fast.  Either way, I might give that a try.  It seems a bit like trying to cheat the system to me, though.

If it's built into the system itself that you can do this, it's not cheating.  And it's better this way for people like me, because almost all of my facebook friends are Objectivists who don't game and would be baffled to see Dragon Age in their news feed.

However, most people won't do that and just share with themselves. And even those that do will still give EA the idea that this stupid spammy system works, meaning even more of these carrot-dangling promotions of "do the advertising for us and we'll give you a new shinny".

I agree, don't really know how it works but I am currently annoying anyone on my friends list with share and I am clicking like. Yes...put the carrot in front of me and I follow BUT....you guys better hook us up...even if that mark isn't hit....because Bioware is really cool like that. I have faith that you guys will hook all of us up.

I was one of those 150 000 ppl.  I tried to download it some ten minutes after release, and the damn site was slower than a crippled elefant in a finnish swamp!  And the counter read ~34k ppl.  A few dozen F5s (and some ten minutes) later I FINALLY got the download working and the counter read ~55k ppl.  Twenty thousand in ten minutes makes me believe.

It was likel that for me until around 10 PM EST, when most of the people cleared out and I got a nice 450 kb/s connection. Took about an hour to DL and I passed the file to a few friends.

Yeah, its possible if one person is downloading the file for a group of people. You don't need much bandwidth to just log on to your EA account to register the game on the counter.
