Why does the facebook post says 50000 shares and the dragon age 2 page ask for 1M comments?

Is this type of contest to open content allowed on Facebook? Just concerned me after I recently read an article regarding contests on facebook which broke their 'promotions guidelines: http://www.facebook.com/promotions_guidelines.php'. These examples makes me a bit concerned:

• You cannot: Condition entry in the promotion upon a user
  providing content on Facebook, such as posting on a Wall of a Page,
  uploading a photo, or posting a status update.
• You cannot: Administer a promotion that users automatically enter by liking your Page.
• You cannot: Notify winners through Facebook, such as through Facebook messages, chat, or posts on profiles or Pages.

After the weekend was over and people are focusing on getting back to the grind? Oh, and this surge of downloads just so happened to come up mere hours before your "challenge" completely fell on its face. What a coinky-dink.

Hey, EA, you know what might be a good idea to get those downloads you want so badly? How about actually advertising them outside of the forums for a change? Only do it in a tasteful manner, for the love of God, I'm sure I don't need to remind you about this.

Do you even realize how hard it is to get into your promotions if you don't actually "live" in these forums? I've lost count to the amount of times that I saw a really cool promotion that I missed because I'm not constantly on these forums to know about them. Aren't you supposed to try and drawn in those that aren't your most hardcore fans? You know, those that like your games but also like to play other stuff too?

And basically, the same can be said about this demo: next time you want your stuff to be played by a million people divulge it to a million people so they know that it freaking exists!

WAIT WHAT WHAT!

Read it carefully guys.

"If EACH post from now to March 4, 2011 is shared and reaches 1,000,000 Impressions THE DAY IT IS POSTED the tome will unlock."

So on march 1st, the first post must reach a million before march nd, then on march nd, the second post must reach a million before march 3rd, then on march 3rd, the third post must reach a million before march 4th...etc.


How the hell can BW expect us to pull this off seriously? :S

Probably stupid enough to "accidentally" switch to hardcore mode... That's why the demo was locked on normal. Bioware I love you but next time don't make up sh*t like that...

This is not a contest so this promotion doesn't apply its just a mark to have 1 million impressions and 50 k shares a day. There are no winners selected. If the goal is met everyone gets the item if not then we don't.

How can you not define this as a contest? If we have 1 million impressions and 50 k shares a day, we get a prize..
I'm a bit confused as to how this is not a contest?

And since the prize is for everyone, the rules for a holding one doesn't apply?

I like getting free in-game items as much as the next player, but this is getting to be a bit much. Especially since this one relies on exactly the kind of thing that made Facebook annoying to me -- way too much noise, not enough signal. (I say "made" because I canceled my FB account over their repeated privacy violations, and I'm not going back.)

I don't have Facebook, the tinfoil hat won't let me, so I'll just hope for victory this time... I might just have to give in and register once Legends comes out though... free dlc is so tempting!
