Wait, which one is it? 50k shares on the facebook site or the 1 million impressions? The two banners have different requirements?

The thing is, I have some contacts at facebook I really didn't want to show my gaming side too. For career-related reasons. Not every *friend* of mine in facebook is a friend, you see

Since you might want to know this anyways, you can create various lists of friends and individually tailor each post/picture you make to include/exclude as many lists as you want.  I mainly use it to restrict what busybody aunts/uncles and my cousins who are still children can see, but it works just as well for professional reasons.

As to the feasibility of the contest itself . . . it counts pageviews not comments.  From what I know of impressions, the actual feedback tends to be < 1% of the impressions, but based on the number of likes, if 1% of the people who viewed the post liked it, then we're already there.  So this actually seems like a pretty safe bet.

Following quote is from http://www.facebook....guidelines.php:

These Promotions Guidelines, along with the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, the Ad Guidelines, the Platform Policies and all other applicable Facebook policies, govern your communication about or administration of any sweepstakes, contest, competition or other similar offering (each, a "promotion") on Facebook.

As far as I can see, it clearly defines that making users do what Bioware is asking is not allowed.

  • You cannot:  Condition
entry in the promotion upon a user providing content on Facebook, such
as posting on a Wall of a Page,  uploading a photo, or posting a status
    update.
  • You cannot:  Administer a
promotion that users automatically enter by liking your Page, checking
in to your Place or connecting to your Platform integration.

I'm not spamming my facebook with this. Sorry. The demo was one thing. But this is farmville spam territory. I despise it and will not do this.

Woe is me and all that.

Yesterday, the thing was about 800,000. Now it's 1.1 million. I suspect some doctoring of the numbers

Aw man, you gotta be kidding me. I mean, I'm happy we got the books I suppose, but spamming my friends' feeds with this will only put them off buying this game.

I never understood that, adding people who aren't friends, but you only know vaguely. It's a SOCIAL networking site, not a work-related one. Although, now it's becoming so popular that is changing.

But hey that's just me.

My issue is pretty similar. I love gaming and all but it's a personal hobby, sharing it with others will reveal something I prefer to keep to myself. Not all the 200+ people on my facebook are close friends...

I call foul on this. I remember it getting to around 800k the first day, and yesterday it was around 840k i think? I suspect manipulation to boost numbers the entire time. Not that that is a bad thing. I rather see the fanbase increase and the game sell more.

When it says it's on your entitlements page what does that mean for PS3 players? Will it appear on the downloadables list on the game?
