bah, maybe I'll reactivate my facebook and share it with one person, because most of the people I'm friends with aren't really RPG gamers, so I'll just send it to somebody. First off though, if we hit share on the thingy, do we need to do anything else? I've never used share on there, I thought it was useless, so apparently I was wrong? It actually does have some weird use....

what is sad is that all of this will find its way to be free down the road and everyone who tried to participate or work towards this will have done all of this for nothing.... :(

No, the next challenge is that you go out and convince your neighbors to sign a paper that you told them how great DA2 is. If you collect 300 papers then you get 30 copper ingame. Awesome. Dont forget to tell your teachers/collegues/bosses and your personal psychatrist that you play DA2.

Anyway whats the fuss about all those "free" items? After the release we will make ourselves nice items, even better ones and add them as mods.Image IPB

The share button does exactly that, it shares it with your friends on facebook. you know on the home page part? in the News Feed.

that promo should be some extra power that is not in the game yet that would make it worthwhile not some book that gives you x xp for 2 minutes and something you will sell to obtain a better armor 5 minutes later...

You know Bioware, I love your products and your method of making them. You can have my money gladly in exchange for your fabulous games. You can even have some extra money for the "special pay me more" edition or whatever. You can have my money a second time when I buy your games for my younger brother who really isn't that into it but will play them to humor me. And I will even download your game demo because, hey, I was gonna do that anyway.

But I will _not_ get on Facebook for you.

I have to agree this is getting a little silly. Luckily I don't actually care about whatever minor bonus these items might give, so I can safely ignore this "challenge". I have to think they are just trying out different things to see what works. Kind of like the tacky in-game NPC selling DLC content in DA:O. Tried it, got a bunch of flack for it.

Ah, so I'm just spamming the news feed to my friends who, most if not all, don't play RPG games.

Make a mental note: when hitting share button tomorrow, write in "People ignore this, I'm only back online to hit share so I can get a free item because I'm a video game free item collecting wh***. Now I'm deactivating my facebook again.

As long as I hit share, I'll still get the item right? Assuming Bioware hits their magic number?

Exactly and I already told all my friends who love computergames how AWESOME Dragon Age Origins was. Im not going to annoy my other friends whol dont care with spam for a stupid item.

I really hope nice mods like Phoenix Armory will make it to DA2. (Those items are even more beautiful and better then the vanilla items from Bioware)
Im not going to make myself naked to get a stupid book.

it has to hit 1mil 5 days in a row btw. not 1 mil once. so 5 mil not 1 mil. (assuming they post once a day)

"If each post from now to March 4, 2011 is shared and reaches 1,000,000 Impressions the day it is posted the tome will unlock."

the day it is posted is the really really big part.
and the first one is only at 2833 likes right now.
no clue how many dislikes.

Nice we made it, never thought we'd get there.

But an other challenge? Ok I guess. But I'd rather be able to play Legends and unlock the items before Da2 is launched. So perhaps work towards that goal...

That's why I could never jump on the Facebook bandwagon. I love socializing, but telling interweb friends about the things I do everyday is just far over my head.

I was wandering why all this pre-marketing ...
now I must ask about the target-public that bioware are trying to achieve ...
Im starting to worry about the game quality ...

They should be releasing a pack containing several items, rather than releasing 1-2 items at a time.

Then it might be worth it.

Smart.  Something tells me that soon they won't be making the type of game I enjoy.

On topic - I don't trust this and I am not joining facebook... nothing against people who like this kind of thing, but it's not for me.

wow I forgot all about that little problem. That's a good point. How am I supposed to get this item for my ps3 version? Should my facebook email, ps3 email, and Bioware Social email be the same?

ohh boohoo dont make me do facebook, people dont like spamming, even though they can just hide all posts from dragon age once and never be bothered by it again. If I do it they will know I'm a nerd and they will not be my friends, I must continue lieing to my friends for them to be my friends! Anything but facebook its so evil with asking me simple questions like my name. Its facebooks fault afterall that I shared my real name, phone number, and address to everyone, not mine for being stupid enough to enter that stuff in and set it to share with everyone and including the identity thief down the street.
/endsarcasm

Really people. Create a fake account with fake info like everyone else and go look at the pretty dragon age website.
If you're scared of sharing, dont be. You're friends can delete your post or hide all of stuff from dragon age. They are big boys and girls, they can handle the menacing X button on your post.

Hear, Hear.

I'm probably going to shell out another 20 to 50 bucks along the line for the DLC but ditto - FB is never going to happen!
