I don't like this "challenge" much either, for a couple of reasons:

1) Like RoseLegion and ijustwananame, I'm not going to spam my friends with stuff I know they won't want. I'm really happy to pass on cool stuff they will want to see - you don't have to bribe me to do that, I'll do it anyway. And when I do recommend something, it'll probably get looked at because my friends know I'm pretty selective.
2) I'm a perfectionist and a completionist when it comes to bonus items and DLC. I like collecting stuff But even I have started to wonder about the number of bonus items. Either those who haven't chased all the bonus loot are going to be very gimped, those who have are going to be overpowered, or the loot doesn't make much difference. I'm hoping for the latter - it's seems strange to go to huge lengths to balance the game properly and then have a fair bit of stuff to upset that. In one sense I'm grateful, I realised this week I really don't care about the FB items, or the ones from the collectible store. Apparently, this marketing campaign has broken my addiction!

Having said that, to balance this post, I think most of the social networking marketing ideas have been brilliant. Legends, for example, is one of the best ideas I've seen and is really using Facebook properly. the demo download reward, while i'll restate my concerns about the tomes (maybe something cosmetic/codex that didn't affect gameplay would have been cool instead) worked as a way to get it out in the right time frame.

From the looks of it, I hope the marketing team has figured face(-palm) book

Well, the fact is DA is no so popular as Martin Sheen, and I doubte we will reach the 1,000,000 I Iike it's as speed as the actor got it!!! :-P

Personally, I never mind while I would be enjoy of my favourite EA's Game!

just to give you some reference, only 333,499 people like the Charlie Sheen face book page.
the last post only got 969 likes.
though 15,586,521 do like the Two and a Half Men page.
it's last post only got 8,761 (less than one percent (.056%)

dragon age has 349,319 likes,
it's last post has 2,670 likes (still less than one percent (.76%) but way better than Two and a Half Men's last post, and still better than Charlie (.29%)

The item isn't won based on 'likes' for the article; it's won based on impressions. Impressions are how many times the article was loaded on someones newsfeed.

We are tallying up the numbers and arguing if the target is reached to make it available to everyone or just to those fans on Facebook would have helped reach teh goal. Personally, I am in favor of rewarding those who took part, not people who complained and didn't help.

When we know whether the goal was reached and who will or will not get the item, we will let people know.

Umm, I took part some, but not every day cause I didn't want to spam my friends, will some still count, or would I have had to take part every day, you think?

so if i understood this well correct me if i ma wrong only the players who have facebook will get the book i mean thoes who voted or whatever the ydid on facebok for dragon age 2 will get teh books and thoes who don't have facebook what will be with them they don't have a chance to get it

If it comes to that - maybe they'll just send codes to unlock the item to participants (via Facebook).

Same here. I use different email accounts for facebook and here.
