How low can they go?!
My guess is not much lower, but they've already surprised me quite a bit in this competition.

Anybody else worried that DA2 isn't gonna be that good?
I mean they're trying to get everybody to pre-order with these special editions, DLC and add-ons.
I'm worried that once the game is released and the feedback is negative, people will stop buying so they're trying to get the sales in pre-orders. I really hope i'm wrong though
Every vibe in my bones is telling me the exact same thing.
Also know that every "big" movie that has been advertized to death ends up a flop?
I just hope they don't shoot a blank with this one..
That's kind of an overgeneralization. It also depends on your idea of a flop. I think Avatar was piece of **** but it was advertized to death and is one of the most watched movies of all time, thus making it not a flop in that sense. I mean, some movies do over saturate the market to make up for not being good (like Transformers), but I think that with DA2, most people are just looking for something to justify their own fears/concerns. For example, Mass Effect 2 had a huge tie in program, what with the preorders, the dlc, and the Dr Pepper items. The same can be said for Halo 2 and 3 (and a large number of other games). You might not have liked those games (or your might have, no assumptions) but if that's the thing you like, they were excellent and well reviewed. I don't see why DA2 has to be any different, just based on a few examples like Drive Angry (shudders). The fact is that its a business, and they have to make money to stay in business. Even the smallest indie developer still has a bottom line.
I think a lot of the concerns people on these forums have is just knee jerk reactions to what they see as changed or deviating from the path of comfort. Undoubtably some of those people will find their worst nightmares come true, in no small part of them believing it to be the case, but I think, ultimately, Bioware will deliver. Marketing is marketing, and getting the word out is just a way to sell more copies of the game. I actually think it is a viable method. I doubt it happened this way for DA2, but having a core base of dedicated fans help promote a game keeps money on the development side, instead of PR. In an ideal world anyway.
None of this is to say that I don't, at the very least, see and appreciate the opposite point of view. I do, and there is a part, albeit a small one, that fears the shadowy hand of EA's money making machine will grip Bioware. Still, they've held out so far, and maybe EA will start to return to its more idealistic beginning philosophy. They did, after all, go to bat for ME1 with that stupid sex scene 'controversy'. Then again, in the words of Alan Shore, all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to say "It's just business".
Still, I intend to retain some part of the naivete I lost most of during life and hold out hope that the world is not a black and dismal place, and maybe, just maybe, people who make games do so because they enjoy it, and it isn't all about the money. So far, I have seen no reason to throw up my hands in despair.

So Bioware, you're asking us to spam on facebook, something which is illegal? Do you're own marketing!
....
I don't think you know what spamming is. Also, (actual) spamming might well be against the Facebook Terms of Service, but that doesn't make it illegal. Cops aren't going to show up at your door and take you away for posting Facebook links.

I'll just try to remember to click "like" & "share" each day (anyone on my friend-list-thingamy is surely a fellow game promotions person), and trust that does something I don't understand towards unlocking something else I don't understand.

I know cops won't show up at my door, like cops won't show up at my door if I started pirating games or music CD's. It's the morality of it that disturbes me, especially from Bioware, a gaming company that I've held in high esteem until now.

Upon reading the item description, I got the wildest inkling that maybe, just maybe, we will be able to import an item or two? The Champion just happens across a chest once owned by the famed Warden Commander. Probably wrong, but just imagine...plowing through the Qunari with Dumat's Spine or Vigilance. Ahhh...one can dream.
I think we will already be getting Vigilance (or at least I really hope so) because the Crows steal it, and maybe Hawke gains possession of it. One can dream....

This is, quite possibly, the single most sensible post I have seen on these forums.
That is all.
