Is it true that PC will be better than Xbox 360? Will the gameplay be different between console and PC? I had someone mention this to me because PC had limitless creatures or such in battles compared to xbox version. Thank you.

My personal opinion is that PC is better. (But they are all probably equally good or something like that.)

nah opponents are limitless in both, but the way they come is different, in pc they will come at you in large numbers, but in consoles it will be in waves. It applies to both xbox and ps3

Here's the deal: An Xbox with it's high end graphics card is cheaper than a PC with a similar graphics card. But a PC owner can spend twice as much on a graphics card that the cost of a console. The keyboard controller gives a lot more flexibility and the ability for mods on the PC makes for a lot more variety.

Bottom line - if you can afford the PC, go for it. If you only have $300 to spend on the console and game, then console (specifically Xbox 360) is the way to go. If you have $400, then go with the PS3 because the graphics are superior.... but the graphics of the port may or or may not be.....

Aside from how you move around, the lack of the tactical view on the console versions and hotkey layout, the three versions will be similar enough that you won't be cheated regardless of what version you get.

I also think I read that due to technical limitations on the console versions, there won't be as many opponents on screen at once compared to the PC version, so there will be slightly stronger enemies in place of larger numbers. The end result will be roughly the same amount of challenge.

With all of that said, there is one thing that makes the PC version superior to the console versions:  The toolkit.  A limitless supply of custom content.

It's better only subjectively - if you like gaming on Xbox, don't wory about the PC version and vice versa. There are interface differences to account for the differences between console controllers and mouse and keyboard. There is also the lack of top-down tactical view and tactical zoom on consoles for memory limit reasons. Console difficulties are slightly tweaked; reviewers have reported that the console game is a bit easier on the same difficulty setting and there is no friendly fire damage on the normal difficulty on consoles. Some battles have been slightly restructured to account for a faster console playing style and/or RAM limits in the consoles so that fewer enemies appear on screen at once - but there are still plenty on screen at once, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that.

I'm getting it for the PC because I have a decent PC (the components to which, incidentally, cost less than and are quite a bit more powerful than my Xbox 360) and I really value the tactical zoom and slower, more tactical gameplay. But I'm certain that whether you enjoy DA:O will not be dependent on whether you play it on 360 or PC.

You can talk about graphics and performance all you want, but chances are the console versions will look and play great. The major difference is the mods, and for me, that is a huge deal.

Forgot about the mods. Yes, there is no guarantee that any mods will make their way to console, and no way that all of them will.

Yes. Yes it is.

To answer your other questions: No one knows for sure. No one has played the game other than the Devs and some magazine people. Honestly, I don't read reviews. Half of them play for 30 minutes and, if they don't like what they see, quit playing there are give out a half-assed review. Wait and see, dear child..wait and see. Besides, I'm biased towards PCs because they are obviously superior with better controls, mods, etc. I might say that the PC version is easier. Someone who has an opposite gaming preference might say 360 is easier.

If you base your entire purchase off of what people tell you or off a review you read, then you suck.  "Roger and Ebert said this movie was a 2 thumbs down, so I'm not going to watch it despite the fact that my favorite director, actors, writers, and everything are in this." Play it for yourself and decide. If that means buying to copies...well, have fun.

The xbox doesn't have a high end graphics card. It actually has a very outdated card by today's standards.

If you have $300-$400 to spend you can get a graphics card that is significantly more powerful than anything in a console. Hell for $400 you could probably build an entire PC that would crush a console's performance. You could definitely get a graphics card, CPU and mobo.

The graphics might look ok by console standards, but you can't argue that they will be on par with a decent PC.

Thanks for all the knowledgeable replies. I like PC a lot, but I've played KOTOR and mass effect on xbox. I know my PC can handle it, I just know I am stable with my Xbox. Definitely getting it for Xbox 360, as I have pre-ordered it and hopefully getting the collector's edition as well as done all unlocks on Dragon Age Journey's.

Well, define decent. I tend to find that you need a fairly good PC to actually give it a noticeable graphical improvement over the console version. Not OMGUBER, but still a bit better than the average PC if you account for all types of PC users.

I like getting it on console because of the achievements. But not sure if I should get it for PC or 360 now.

Some PC games, such as Mass Effect have begun to add achievements.  Although I do see the appeal of raising your gamerscore and braggin to all your xbox live buddies ;)

There are more achievements in the PC version, IIRC. They'll display here on the social site.

Thinking about it, why wouldn't the consoles offer the same number of social site exclusive achievements? The trophies and gamerscore points may be limited by Sony and MS, but why would it be limited here? Perhaps I misremember and the dev said that there will be more social site achievements, not PC exclusive achievements.

Just get it for whichever you enjoy playing more. Take a look at GiantBomb's two quicklook videos, one for 360 and the other for PC, and see if either seems better to you. If you want access to mods, I suggest you go with the PC version, though.

Well my guess is the Xbox version will be 720p max.  So I'd say any PC that can run it above 720p with a little AA and AF would make it look significantly better than either console.  Probably any PC with a dual core CPU, enough RAM (at least 2gb in Vista), and an 8800 GTS or equivalent GPU.

I guess it would depend on how important those achievements are to you. Are they more important than improved visuals and the toolset that come with the PC version?

What are the specs on your PC?  Depending on your setup it might look significantly better or the difference might not be noticible.  I'd say if you think you can max the game then go with the PC version for sure.

I heard rumours that there are some PS3 games which actually support full HD 1080p. I never owned a PS3 though, and I may be severely wrong.

Perhaps, but that's a decent gaming PC, and likely a good bit above average when all PC users are considered.

I think so because more details etc + the tools and stuff that will come later make the pc much superior than any console ;)

Yeah some of them do.  MGS4 is the only one I can find amongst my collection that does, and it still looks like crap compared to PC games IMO.

I don't use my xbox achievements to brag about. I like them because for me it's like I actually achieve something in my life with all the hours of gaming I do. Just feel good when I unlock them.

Right now for my PC specs I'm running Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66GHz, 2 gb of ram, Nvidia 8800 GT graphic card. Only running on Windows XP though.

With all this talk about 720p and 1080p computers can go way higher then that I have a 30" LCD and it supports 2560x1600 and I run all my games at that resolution and they look damn awesome so my take is that PC will be way better especially if you have the hardware to back it up. I just recently upgraded my system with a Core i7-920 (3.6GHz) 12GB RAM 1600 MHz and a Geforce GTX280 (650MHz/2400MHz)
