PS3 Sig Ed. Might pick up a PC regular ed to test out the gameplay.
uh...just get the PC demo if all you want to do is "test out the gameplay"
then you'll know what it's like and go from there

I know what you mean. While playing the game demo, watching the interviews, and seeing the 30 minute footage, I started to feel as though "Dragon Age II" was not my type of game. Even though "Dragon Age: Origins" spoke to me on some level, "Dragon Age: Awakenings" (its expansion) was a very hard campeign to get into. So, don't think I am 100% relying on the fans. Since BioWare is not going to address certain questions, ones that only a fans could, I will have to wait and see the initial aftermath.CharliePrince wrote...

"don't believe the hype" i agree with.. then how about believing your own tastes..
I'm trying to hold back my emotions, so I can make a more informed choice.
I see something happening with this game, which reminds me about another BioWare sequel. Even though the company didn't make the sequel, I am playing this one out with a sense of caution. Instinctively, I am holding myself back.

You are talking like the demo was good. Yes, it was so good, that Bioware died for me because of that. He is doing the right by not buying into the hype, and waiting for some reviews from magazines and fans of RPGs (not Bioware fanboys).CharliePrince wrote...

I don't buy into hype. Until I get some questions answered by fan reviews (youtube footage and articles), I will continue to do exactly what I am doing now. Nothing. After reading the Gamestar review of "Dragon Age II", I went from holding off on buying to fully applying the breaks.
I hope "Dragon Age II" is a successful game. I also hope that the audience it speaks to enjoys the game. When it comes to me jumping into the deep end, I'm going to hold off to see the aftermath of what is about to happen.
"Dragon Age II" will sell a million copies; however, I see something coming in which will be a great let down. So, I will track this game to see how things playout. I feel like there is an instant need or hurry to jump into the pool.
Only time will tell.

you then cite that you follow review-sites/etc and for me.. I never do.. I like what I like, everything else be damned..
after all.. who best to know what you will like, than yourself
i did not buy into any hype.. i did not read any publications reviews or anything..
i played the demo.. and after it ended.. i sat there
wanting morei wanted more.. i wanted the game right then and there.. i wanted to find out more about the story.. about Cassandra, Flemeth, the champion.. their world.. the pirate chick with the pornstar body
haha, yea.. I wanted more

No, he isn't. The reviewers are so heavily biased one way or another that their word is beyond worthless.
If anyone is in doubt, wait till it comes out and rent.

Again, if in doubt, rent. The fans are worse than the reviewers, and shouldn't ever be trusted.
Rent it. Answer the questions for your own self. And then decide.

You cannot rent a pc game. I don't own a console by choice. Computers are superior.falconlord5 wrote...

Well, that sucks. And you have literally one option: buy, or don't.
But don't trust the fans, or the reviewers. Those who do, are instantly burned.

If a crap load of fans errupt because of something I see, I will know for a fact that my instincts were correct. I'm testing for somethings that are very specific.falconlord5 wrote...

Dragon_83 is most likely on the same page.

No, you wont. First off, the fans on these forums (or any other) are small, vocal minority. Which means that an overwhelming majority of fans could be just fine with it, and you'd never know. The biases here are just too strong.
Secondly, there is never a "crap load" of fans who errupt over something. It is always concentrated in the hands of a very few, split between defenders and antagonizers. Both of whom are far too deep in the respective biases to be trusted for anything.
Thirdly, if one poster mis-interprets something, the rest of the forums will pick it up. Meaning you'd be running on false info. Every time.
Trust 'em if you like. I wouldn't.
