Morrighan'nan? Morrigan-type from the past? Why include this in the Codex?

That would be a pretty chilling prediction if it turned out exactly like the story (everyone dies).  It does seem like Bioware is giving us some insight here, though the outcome will likely be based on personal choices.

Also, I had Morrigan sleep with Loghian.

lol, out of curiosity, how did Loghain react?  i'm kinda curious as to what Loghain would do in that situation, but I don't want to destroy Alistair to do it... maybe in a later playthrough perhaps, but in the meantime, what did he say?  I tried looking it up online, didn;t find anything (apparently every other love scene is on youtube, just not this one, I must say my curiosity has been piqued).

To me, he looked as though he thought she might rip his face off and eat it.

One of the few scenes that made me snicker...and kind of freaked me out.  Morrigan has a sinister look on her face as she waltzed over to Loghain's bed.

Morrigan: "You're better than Maric was, I'll give you that."

No foreshadowing. That particular legend was written well before the game, by James Ohlen. Any similarities are coincidental, unless you really prefer to think otherwise. :)

Thank you. When I had read this legend, I was worried that it was literal. Morrigan is my favorite character in the game and a bittersweet ending is better (not that I like that it wasn't happy) than a bad ending.

Very curious, VERY CURIOUS- Gaiders respone to the thread was very quick, one might almost say... supernatural? Perhaps, ohidontknow, they've got an alarm bell for massive sequel plot prequel spoilers... yes?

Well? Explain yourself, old man!

I agree.

I am in no way advocating for the type of ending that occurred in the Legend of Luthias the Dwarfson to be a/the major determinant in any additional DA:O content.  Also, it would oversimplify things and discredit the work the writers do.  A literal reproduction of the events of a legend wouldn't seem right. I simply think the inclusion of the legend in the Codex is provocative, in that it draws certain parallels, if nothing else.

And it would be a strange world indeed if no two people should be named the very same thing.

Hey now, that's crazy talk. The fact that we have a character named Loghain *clearly* means he must have been inspired by an eponymous character in the Wheel of Time series. It's the only explanation.

I just saw A Memory of Light, by Brandon Sanderson on sale as a hard cover and I almost bought it. I think I will wait for the soft cover and perhaps get in at my local library first as they wanted just over 35 dollars for the book. Anyway I can't think of a better author to finish that legendary series, Sanderson's Mistborn series is a really good read and quite unique which is refreshing in the fantasy genre. Hard to imagine reading the end to that series finally! I was still young when I started to read The Wheel of Time! lol

That quote makes me worry even more that Flemeth is already in Morrigan.

We established somewhere in one of these threads that Alistair isn't the son of the maid from a certain book... Maric + Flemeth = Alistair O.o I think I'm just being ridiculous.... Probably... Maybe....

Yes that quote is unsettling.
But perhaps Morrigan has heard about Maric from her mom? She does say that Flemeth used to tell her (and make her watch) everything.
Or perhaps she just wants to play with Loghain's head.

I'd (hope) it's play with his head.

Question when she said that had you kiled Flemeth?

When Morrigan said that? Quote seems rather familiar, but can't remember when she said that...

I don't think that quote is actually in the game - at least I don't see it in the talktables.

How you managed to open Single Player talktables? I Tried with Dragon Age toolset and I was able to open only Core Game Talk Table and Demo Talk Table via Toolsets String editor. I can select it, but it seems to be empty. However if I use File->Open File function Toolset opens the talktable, but there is not any search function. Its not possible to manually browse all almost 200000 entries. :P

You can open them with a hex editor and search. Or if you are feeling adventurous, use TextPad, but it will make everything look like it has extra spaces.

I'm not sure how to get the toolset to open them in a format that isn't a tree of entries.

I am waiting for the speculation on the sequel that stems from the fluffy mackerel pudding recipe in the codex. There's no way that was put in there on a whim: It must hint at a plot about horrible fish dishes.

After you leave Lothering you're forced into a cutscene in which you have a dream about the Archdemon.

Allistair "Bad dreams?"

PC "Must be something i ate"

I KNEW IT, IT'S ACTAULLY THE FISH

You're not a Grey warden and you're actually having a "bad dream" Allistair is a Pleasure Demon and you are his **** (begins with a B)  Image IPB.

Next DLC right there!

Wait. If Flemeth slept with Maric and gave birth to Alistair, then... Slept with some Chasind barbarian and gave birth to Morrigan. Then if you choose to have Alistair sleep with Morrigan. Incest!

Right!

Morrigan gave birth to a pleasure demon, Allistair, who in turn tricked you into a dream state where-in you are this heroic Grey warden!

In truth, you're just a little girl, talking to a cat. The "Something i ate" thing in the  dream cutscene is a subtle indication that a) the fish really *is* bad. We know Allistair can't cook because he had a conversation with Leliana about how "gray bland" is the traditional Ferelden way of cooking.

and B) He's using the fish to help create the illusional reaility you play the entire game in!

Actually I always had the sneaking suspicion Lelianna's mother is Alistair's mother. Her mother was a maid who left Feralden. They'd be more likely to be siblings most things that raise approval with Lelianna also raise it with Alistair. Alistair enjoys killing Loghain, Lelianna enjoys killing Majorlaine. Probably pulling at hairs here.

The plot line in the codex also resembles the traditional Arthurian legend of Morgaine giving birth to Mordred (Arthur's son) who ultimately kills his father.

I think Morrigan is turned on by fear.

I'd prefer caramel pudding; Leliana told me some very interesting things about it  in her tent......
