the ladder line negates any goodwill i had to the rest of the voice actingThe Baconer wrote...
The Warden - violent voice for humans. When you disregard that ladder line anyway. Male Hawke comes in at second.
i actually had to reroll my first playthrough midgame because i'm on console and it was like nails on a chalkboard

Also, to all of you complaining that the Warden communicates telepathically, wow, really? Have you never role played in first person before? You're not supposed to see a response from your character because it's your voice speaking the lines, in your imagination. You then get to see the important part, the response you get from what you say.
Which would be fine, except that isn't what we had in Origins. The camera panned so we had to look at our Warden's stupid, unexpressive face while the line is supposedly being said. Or even worse when the Warden is trying to show emotion and it looks like a cheap pantomime.
So I'll go with male Hawke, especially the snarky variety.
And for the people who dislike the cinematic elements of the game, I suggest you get used to it. Bioware games have been focused on cinematics since KotOR. It has been one of the hallmarks of their games for several years now.

The warden. No voice-over could ever hope to match the voices in my head.
Remember, do everything the voices in your head tell you to.
Lady Hawke's voice fit a female Hawke, yes. And Mister Hawke's voice fit a male Hawke. Warden's lack of voice changed the character. The former two fit one role, the latter fits another. They're apples and oranges.

Angry:
"They say your life flashes in front of your eyes before you die. Any helpful flashes yet?"
"Seems to me, the last man standing gets final say on who is right or wrong."
Sarcastic:
"Didn't I kill this once before? Why is it still here?"
"Where are we going? How should I know? Do I look like the leader of this merry band of misfits?"
"Hawke this, Hawke that. Why does everything fall to me?"
"At least it can't get any worse. Not today, anyway. It's pretty late."

I prefer voiced protagonists to mutes. Its an immersion thing for me.
Though for future games, just have an option to turn off the protagonists voice for those who prefer the silence.

How would turning off the voice work with the wheel o'hints? Its not like you can actually pick your dialogue anymore. Just take a shot in the dark that the top/middle/lower choice will get you at least close to what you wanted.Siven80 wrote...
FemHawke has the vest voice. MakeHawke second. Warden 3rd as his/her expressions quite often had me laughing.
