Broodmother not hostile after cutscene

This is a really strange issue and it's the first time I've run into it.  After the cutscene that plays and shows you the Broodmother, my party is supposed to be moved into position right in front of her and combat begins.  I've verified this with savegames from other characters.  However, whatever script causes this to happen isn't working.  Instead of being moved to the room with the Broodmother, once the cutscene ends (whether I end it by hitting ESC or let it play out) my party is still in the passageway just outside the Broodmother's room and when I move in she is not hostile - and there is no way to make her hostile (that I know of).

This doesn't seem to be related to the game version or the  mods I'm using since I've verified that the encounter works correctly under the same conditions with another character.  I've also removed all mods and tested it with the same results.  Does anyone know if there is a debug or console command that will get me past this obstacle?

It seems to me that this is likely an error in the character savegame, but I don't want to go changing things in the toolset blindly.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I encountered the same problem, though reloading a previous save and then entering the cut scene again fixed it... Have you tried perhaps re-installing the game?

I tried an earlier save, more precisely, a save from just before entering The Dead Trenches area and the same thing happened. Since it works fine with savegames from other characters on the same installation, I don't expect reinstalling the game will be a fruitful exercise.

Mods?

As stated in the opening post, I tried this with all mods removed and achieved the same result.  This included emptying the override folder.
In the event some mods make permanent changes to the savegame file, here are the notable third-party mods that I'm using:

Advanced tactics
Qwinn's fixpack
Skip the fade
Camp storage chest
Lancerlot PC Unlock
Lock bash
Extra dog slot

These mods were installed and active at character creation.  Dog slot and lock bash have since been disabled.  I'll state it again (and probably in every reply I post) - I've verified that other characters with the same mods on the same installation can pass the Broodmother cutscene successfully and begin combat normally.  This particular character can not.

Missed that. So no additional mods or other changes or editing the game since the last, successful play through?

No. Again: I can play this new character up until the Broodmother cutscene, after which combat does not ensue and there is no way to initiate combat with the Broodmother. Immediately thereafter, I can load a game (which used an identical selection of mods) from just a few weeks ago at roughly the same point and combat begins after the cutscene ends.

Hmmm... well the simplest explanation (as you mentioned) is that a saved game with the new character got corrupted somehow along the way. Not sure how to test that, though, except loading older and older saves in succession with the new character and getting to that point. Blech.

Guess it's another reason why you won't be buying DA2, huh?

Hopefully some others, perhaps those more experienced with the console/toolset can offer a suggestion.

From the beginning I was looking for a way to invoke a script or a trigger to start the Broodmother combat through the console since the party is moved to a specific point when this takes place. Something is preventing this from happening and I believe the only way to fix it is to run the script from the console, but I haven't found the script from the visible options in the toolset.

I know that this is pretty old topic but I had this same problem and I didn't find any solutions for this on the net. But I managed to get through it by doing the following.

Before the battle I turned all my sustained spells and talents off and then went to the room she's in and she was hostile. If I didn't take them off Broodmother wasn't hostile and I couldn't attack it.
