Why do you think the asari are all hot bisexual chicks? To attract the huge amount of female gamers?

Hmm.
And the lack of good looking males? (except maybe Kai + joker) Posted Image

Well i guess that explains it too.
How blind of me... and when the answer was right in front of my face (Benenzia, samara and miranda all along)

If asari were "male", then they wouldn't stand out from the other races. For all intents all purposes turians and salarians are already all male.

Players would also wonder where baby asari come out from.

^This. So far every other race (except humans and asari) are mono-gendered and male. Sure, people say these speices have females, but let's be honest, that's all hearsay and you can't rely on that as evidence.

They're talked about in the codex.

To reiterate: HEARSAY. Pursuant to rule 801, an out of court statement being offered for the truth of the matter asserted is not admissable as evidence.:police:  Though if you can cite an exception under rule 803, then perhaps I can be persuaded otherwise.:innocent:

Ah law.... I am probably the only person here who might find this amusing.^_^

Turians and Salarians are not all male. Neither are the Krogan.

People seem to be conflating gender with sex. They are not the same. Also, similar relationships exist in our societies, where women consider themselves the father figure (called the Pater) of the child their partner (known as the Genitrix) gives birth to-through a donor, of course.

I don't think there's a lack of good looking males, Turians are kind of attractive, and so are Drell but yeah Asari are an entire species of sexy women lol.
Human women are much more attractive than the males though that I can agree on. Joker and Kaidan border on good looking but there's something really off and uncanny valley about their faces. Same goes for maleshep. It's almost impossible to make a maleshep who isn't horrific-looking. And Sheploo is sort of creepy too.

I really hope they fix human males in ME3 so they actually look like human males and not overgrown bearded babies with down's syndrome.

Come come now. All four of my male Shep's are veritable ladies' men. I did have an extremely fugly male Shep once, but I euthanized him out of pity. I have three pretty cool fem Sheps.

I don't think the asari could ever have been designed as male(ish) since they were concepted as "blue skinned space babes" to begin with (watch making of ME, they use those words).

In response to OP, if they had gone the monogendered-male route they would not be portrayed as galacti****s like they are currently. They would probably have been militant hard asses or something instead. If they were actually portrayed as ****s-n-strippers like current asari, then ME would be a drastically different game as it would be aiming at a different target audience.

Me? I don't pay them much mind as it is so it probably wouldn't change anything. To me asari have never made any logical sense and never will. I just suspend my disbelief so I can get my Shep a nice piece of azure.

Patriarch did mention male Asari but they're dead for a reason. BW why are all the male Asari dead? Will this mystery be solved in 3 or should we contact unsolved mysteries?

LOL @ "blue-skinned space babes". I think I will be checking out that making of video.B)

It can be hard to wrap one's head around though. They are all sexually female, yet "genderless"- atleast according to Liara. It doesn't help that they aren't a very androgynous race, either. I think if they were more androgynous in appearance, it would present less confusion. Probably what is most confusing to me is why we haven't really seen females of the other races. Especially female turians, given their culture. You'd think that you'd see a few at the Citadel, given their militaristic culture.

No he doesn't.  He says that his name is a play on words for "an Asari Matriarch, only male."  He also says that it was Aria's little joke, and Aria confirms it.  She says that she found it humerous to give him a title (and the illusion of power that goes with it) that doesn't exist for her people.  Unless you were speaking of something else?

No, he doesn't mention any male Asari. See here. And for a video confirming this, see Aria's conversation with Shepard.

Totally. I think this is one of the main misunderstandings I see on the forums about asari. It's stated many times in the game that the asari are monogendered (as in, single gender) and not genderless as some people think. Monogendered implies that the entire species in a single gender, male or female, but not "lacking gender". They are definately female, which is good since as you pointed out every other species except humans seem to be very secretive of their females.

Just give it some time. I'm almost positive we'll see female turians in ME3. Maybe even a female korgan. :innocent:

Edit: Oh yeah and Femshep hooking up with Liara? Thats just an attempt to allow the player to have a lesbian relationship without calling it a lesbian relationship. We all know this to be true.

I think a good bit of the confusion would be their species. Are they mammals? Reptilian? Mammary 's say mammal, which would be a good indicator of why they appear female. Mammal milk and all. Those head scales confuse me however.

Honestly I suspect some form of pheromone trickery is happening or something... For all the races to "see" the asari as similar to their own species something must be happening. (Which also opens plot holes regarding the extranet...)
