Statues are great because you as Module-Creator can make a feeling and atmosperic creation!
I wish me more statues in the style of Planescape or Dragon Age 2: A metallic human statue that hold here ands on her eyes or ears!
To have a look on the Dragon Age 2 content, where great because of the adult roleplay I like!
Specially six is asked! :D

It is with great disappointment that I announce that I cannot finish my scripting submission for this challange. My laptops video board blew this morning rendering it dead. All the data is intact, its just the video/mobo that died. Repair time estimated at about 2-3 weeks.

However, I should be able to install photoshop on this backup laptop and redo most of the 2d work. I had started on some gardening tools which are misc. items. It will keep me busy while I wait for my laptop back from repairs.

I do intend to finish the scripting once I get the laptop back if anyone wants it.

I've decided to enter this model in this month's challenge.

I'll post the vault URL when it's been approved. Hope you like it.

Borden you need to post the link for viewing your album if you want others to see it. The update link won't work.

*shudders in horror while looking at DD's computer* Not the ideal way to upgrade your video card, btw. ;) No worries on the script, we have been known to update the Vault postings well after the fact. Technically we still owe an update for November's challenge. *chuckles* Again, not ideal but doable.

Welcome to the fun, Borden! You don't need to post the files to the Vault, there is an email in the first message of this thread you can use. I just set that up recently so y'all wouldn't have to go through the extra steps for the Vault. *grins at Navarian*

@SpiritedLass: I wish I was getting a upgrade. I wouldn't mind running 2 installs of NWN as opposed to 1. lol

Ok so in light of the laptop fail, my wife's laptop has been "charmed" and now will run photoshop decently. Its a great thing I'm not doing images larger than 256x256. :-) Here is what I got done so far. These are just resized to the size they should be in game, and need a little improvement at that size. SpiritedLass has been helping me out being I have no access to NWN right now (thanks!).

Those 2D icons look great, I especially like the "stone artifacts"!

(I know I said I'd post those VFX up... quite a while ago, but I've been a bit carried away with redoing the NWN load screen and stuff. Sorry! :D)

Since the theme chosen for this month is one that I suggested, I figured I'd put together a little something for the challenge. The package is being emailed, but here's screenshots of what I made for those that want to know what's included.

Several placeables and one creature. The big trees originated with lordofworms, then were modified by me to add the hollow inside and one of okto's visual effects. Textures will be included for the trees (same as the ones in CEP) and the beetle (new texture), all others use NWN textures.

Note: You need to set the large trees as static in the toolset, or else you'll get overwhelmed by the huge "selection aura" if your mouse is anywhere near them. I'm not sure what exactly causes this (besides the massive canopies of leaves), so static is the way to go here. :)

Someone needs to clean one of these so he can sit down, but the other is just broken...

What could be inside the hollow of this large tree? Hmmm...

AD: Win! I really like the tree portal idea. I can replace the "tree stump" portal in my world.

I'm finalizing my art today (which now includes "trippy flower items, 2 necklaces, and 2 gloves). I hope to have these mailed out to TSL today and will tweak them over the week. Expect an updated screenshot soon.

Great stuff, we were using a root travel system for druids, the tree will fit that perfectly.

Updated the image in the previous post of mine here. I've included items that might fit well in quests with this statuary (and) garden theme. These now include:
  • Garden Tools (Clean and Dirty): Trowel, Fork, Dibber, Weeding Spud
  • Stone Crafting Tools (Clean and Bloody): Chisels (Toothed, Spike, Wide), Wood and Metal Malletes.
  • Necklaces: "Good Luck Leaf" and "Chipped Stone"
  • Gloves: Basic, and "Gardening Gloves of +10 Floral Arrangements" [Green Thumb] :-)
  • Stone Artifacts with different colored jewels embedded in them.
  • Wicked Flowers: Crystal, Extreme Trippy, Dead, Purple, Basic Trippy
  • Statuettes: Hooded and Dwarven
  • Garden Waterer
That should about do it. This should lead to many of different types of quests around this theme. If the alpha channels are right, these are done and ready to ship to TSL.

Bloody chisels, just what have you been plotting DD? *grins*

The Amethyst Dragon - looking great! I'm on my laptop so not sure if it is just me or if the coloring of the small animal hole (way cool idea) looks a bit ... off? Is it supposed to be grass or dirt? Also the spots on the lady bug look a bit blurred? The skeleton had me laughing. *grins*

A statue request if anyone is interested. The faun statue from Pompeii.

I'm going to try and work on some mosaics tomorrow, if anyone has something in particular they would like to have, now is the time to speak up.

Well the mosaics turned out horrible. So I did a simple reskin of the butterflies. Just solid color changes with orange, green, blue and purple.

If I can figure out why the hak based placeable sounds are not working then i've found some bird songs and such that would go nicely in a garden.

While not quite what I set out to do, after losing the original files I changed my direction a bit and ended up with these. Should be working on their textures a little more, along with doing their portraits tomorrow so I'll update it then!

I didn't have much time this month, so the teahouse is much smaller than I had planned and I left out some details like the dragons in the corners of the roof. It is now the size of a pavillion and fits a tile completely, so it can be added to different terrain and not just to grass terrain. For testing I added it as a grass terrain tile to the TNO tileset.

Posted Image

I hope you like it, even though it is more of a small pavillion than a real tea house.

Nice structure. I like it.

Multicolored butterflies?  Definitely needed.

@Zwerkules - It amazes me how quickly you can build stunning tiles.

@The Amethyst Dragon - I did try to make some multiple toned butterflies. Like the common orange/black, yellow/black and black/white striped but after a few tries of trying to isolate which parts of the texture file were used on which parts of the model, I gave up. I don't have any 3D tools so texturing is kinda hit and miss.

Well gang, RL has gotten pretty crazy on my end of late. So unless someone else wants to take over posting stuff to the Vault this month, I'm guessing you will have at least a week extra to work on this month's files if you need it. Dark Defiance has stepped up and will be covering the forum stuff. So we will have a new theme on Friday. Woohoo. Thanks DD. =)

No problem Lass. I have way too much time on my hands without NWN currently. The irony. :-)

The Spirited Lass: D'oh! When I mentioned multicolored butterflies, I really meant butterflies in different colors, like what you show in your screenshot. I like them.

I think getting too detailed on such motion-prone and small-scale creatures might be overkill anyway (unless you're a person that's really obsessed with butterflies). Who's going to be constantly pausing the game and zooming way in on something like that?

{ Note: Of course, if it were one of my own creations made from scratch that PCs would likely zoom in on (such as weapon or head-aligned-vfx models)...you'd find in me a pixel-pusher making sure vertexes line up to the 100th of a centimeter. :) }

@The Amethyst Dragon: *laughs* you are trying to make my head explode aren't you with that note bit? This isn't a horror themed month ya know! ;)

If I can figure out what is going wrong with adding custom wav files for placeable sounds, are there any garden related sounds y'all would like? I know personally I'd like some different song bird options. Some ideas from looking over the new content so far:
- low lion roar/grumbles for OTR's statues
- coming up blank for a sound for Borden's chariot - there already are some good horse noises
- rock grinding noises for Rubie's golems - this may be a different sound type so not sure here
- creature noises for Dragon's animal burrow
- themed music for Z's tile - again different sound type so not sure here

...

Wow. Just ... wow. I love it so much it leaves me speechless.
(Words of praise can quickly become inflationary in this forum with all the stunning stuff so quickly produced by custom content creators with "not much time" on their hands... ;))

Woohoo! I am now allowed to sit at my desk for *small* chunks of time. YEAH! So here is where the files are at for the Vault post. If I messed up and lost stuff you sent me already, please smack me upside the head and point out the link / email that you sent already. ;) I'm going to try for a release on Friday, but no promises.

Current file status:
Borden Ha'elven - Chariot Statue: Need portrait
Dark Defiance - 2d Icons: Done
Mistress - Butterflies and sounds: Done
OldTimeRadio - Chinese guardian lions: Done
Pstemarie - Cemetary tiles: No files
Rubies - Cuddly Rocky Golems: Done
The Amethyst Dragon: Placeables and Lady Bug: Done
Zwerkules - Chinese Tea House tile -  Done

Personal request: Borden, any chance of getting the placeable split into two parts? The building and the statue? I could see both of those being used by themselves quite easily.

*** Final update of file status on 4-21 ***
