From the mind that brought you Fight For the Stove, and Who Wants to be a Quarionaire, I proudly present the next blockbuster thread of the year with the Highly-Acclaimed Normandy Trail. You once again lead the role of the legendary Commander, taking place after the events of Mass Effect 2. Defying the laws of time and space, Shepard and his/her ragtag team of squadmates journey into the most dangerous world of all: the world of Oregon Trail. A confirmed new squadmate is Oxford, the Passive agressive ox with impressive biotic abilities. Romance...is a possibility. :o Normandy Trail is a fully interactive experience that follows a combination of Choose Your Own Adventure gaming, Mass Effect's conversation system, and the thrill of a lifetime. It will allow people to enter friendly competition attempting to get the first post once a choice is revealed to move Shepard through the storyline. The critics are truly in love with the idea:

"This thread doesn't even make sense. Topic Locked." raves local moderator, Pacifien.
Stanley Woo quips "I'm sorry Dom, but your attempts to get a laugh are at an end...of line."

If you wish to provide feedback after the first playthrough, either send a PM or write a comment after the first playthrough is complete.

Last Update: After hours of work, and 12 pages of content, the finished product is ready to be seen. I hope you guys enjoy playing this as much as I had fun making this. Good luck, commander.

The Beginning of The Normandy Trail Starts Below. Look for an image and you'll see the first choice. Whoever makes the first post with a choice is the "leading" choice.

Well, the two above were the most popular, and I don't want to be an ego-**** about it. It's going to require a lot of writing, so it's best to see if there's enough interest to make it worth exploring. So far, so good. :) If kingdom hearts can do an insane crossover that succeeds, well I'm willing to give it a go.

But what about Shepard's fish? The rest of the squad aren't terribly important, but we've got to reach Willamette Valley with the fish still alive!

Don't forget his yoke either. You need about at least, I'm gonna say 3 yoke to make it across a relay.

The Year is 21XX. Giant robotic lobsters from outer space threaten the entire fate of the galaxy. Shepard had managed to do the impossible, with the right individuals and solid leadership abilities. However, an invasion was coming, with giant explosions and partial nudity. A Mystery was about to be unfolded... This mystery was called... The Normandy Trail. Lying asleep in his cabin, shepard awakes to the sight of Miranda shaking him out of his slumber. “Commander! There’s something you need to see. We may have a significant lead to the reaper threat.”

Well she’s still shaking you, and you still haven’t saved the galaxy, so…conditions haven’t improved. Dummy.
Miranda: The Illusive man received intel of a distress call that lasted only 5 minutes long, nearby an unexplored planet in the Terminus systems.
Shepard: Only 5 minutes? Sounds more like it got snuffed out before anyone heard the distress call.
Miranda: There’s more. This showed up on the extranet not long after the distress call had been terminated.
Miranda reveals a picture on her Omni-tool of a reaper next to what appears to be a relay. Something is very off about the image.

(Sorry about the wait, internet having issues. Again)

Shepard: Why does the relay look like EDI ate the image for lunch?
Miranda: The relay appears to be… 8-bit.
EDI: 8-bit. A type of computer architecture where integers could only be one octet wide. Most notably known for a generation of video games during the early periods of interactive entertainment.

Shepard: I’ve seen vids of something called Mega Man before - Shooting through hallways and collecting resources is thankfully a thing of the past.
Miranda: Fair enough, commander. Let’s try to focus on the present.
Miranda: Before we go any further, we should rendezvous with the other squad mates and decide how to proceed.
Miranda and Shepard make their way below to the mess hall and gather everyone for an emergency meeting.

Legion: A familiar but nonetheless anomalous occurrence.
Jacob: Well, I think we should try heading in. There’s a heavy risk, but the reapers…
Shepard: Jacob’s right, people - we need to take action while we can. If this can get us one step closer to the reapers,  there’s no other choice.
Garrus: That’s pretty daring, shepard. It could be just as dangerous as the Omega-4 relay. Without an IFF, we would’ve been another shipwreck.

For the next choice, I'll have vyse's choice still counted, sorry about that - it linked the wrong choice. Hilarious technical difficulties!

Shepard: It’s peanut butter hanar time! Peanut butter hanar time! Peanut butter hanar time! Peanut butter hanar, peanut butter hanar, peanut butter hanar and a warp attack!
Tali: Oh Kee’lah, not this song again…
Jack: You done making an ass out of yourself, shepard?
Shepard: Hey, ask the one who posted to make the choice. You know who you are. Anyways… we have to head in. This is too important to turn down.

Shepard: I know you’re all tired from what we’ve faced so far. But the time to make a pre-emptive strike against the biggest threat against the galaxy is right here, right now.
Miranda: Would you like to solve any of our daddy issues or mine some palladium before we go?
Sten: No.
Shepard: Wait a minute… who are you? Are you new to the Normandy staff?
Sten: No.Shepard: Alright then…. We leave immediately. Joker?
Joker: Already on it, shep.  We’re nearly there now. This could get bumpy, so hold on!

Joker brings thrusters to full and begins to align next to the mysterious relay. As it begins to slingshot at FTL speeds, the ship, and its crew, begin to tremble.
Mordin: Sub-molecular compositions becoming increasingly unstable!
Jack: Which in English means we’re screwed! Remind me to haunt you if I die, shepard…
The Normandy finally slows to a halt, with the entire ship and its crew getting back up.
Shepard: EDI, what can you tell us? Are we still in the Milky Way?
EDI: Yes. In fact, according to my data, we’re on planet Earth. A location previously known as Independence, Missouri. Scans from our trek through the relay indicated heavy temporal distortions. We are…in the Late 19th Century United States.
EDI: Thruster systems seem to have shut down Commander. I suggest you exit the ship and find a mode of mobile transportation. It will take time to find the source of the damage. Likely a plot device for the storyline.

Seems like an epic cinematic moment to me...
