So do I extract these into a new Dragon Age 2 folder in my documents?

Because the only one I can find is the actual demo under program files. Guh.

They go into the Bioware folder that's generally located in your documents folder. There should be a Demo folder there, and from there the packages folder isn't too hard to find.

So do I delete the 'packages' one that's already there and replace it with the one in the .zip file?

You can just throw the packages folder in the same folder and it'll overwrite what's necessary.

Op: you deserve the tilte of Champion of the BSN man.

Thanks a lot.

My question now: did you use the DAO toolset to make this possible?

The OP didn't create the mods. The guy who created the ME2 Save Editor did.

Awesome! Thank you do much!

Did anyone try to import their save from origins? I've noticed when I clicked the plot summary that almost everything is incorrect ... makes me wonder if it is because the demo was not meant to be used this way or are my savefiles corrupted ...

It's not your save files, the import just doesn't work properly in the demo.

I was kicking my self for not backing up my pc saves after I switched to using the Xbox. Don't feel so bad now that the import doesn't work for the demo.

Hey guys, this is an awesome mod! But I hope in the full game they did FIX the save importing, i know it's just a demo and those features are locked, but the plot summary for my import save is things i didn't even do in origins haha

I hope your right, I most certainly didn't kill Connor or die against the archdemon.

Oh yeah, Is there an apparent reason for not being able to at least change Hawkes eye color, or facial hair, or the hairstyle itself? I am 90 % sure that the reason it isn't allowed is that the model of Hawke is pre-made, so you can't edit the facial structure, etc, but I'm sure the eye color and hair, etc isn't a problem to make changeable.

Mostly worked for me. The only things that were wrong from what I recall was that it had Conor die and Loghain kill the Archdemon. Other than that it had most of my decisions correct.....it even had my accidentally hacked outcome to Elf/Werewolf conflict import correctly. I made a script to set one variable so that the werewolf slide would display properly, and that variable apparently is used to determine whether you sided with the werewolves so my import had me recruiting both the elves and the werewolves. I need to get around to fixing that in the next few days....

I had to wonder why these features were locked in the demo, at least now we know why, they were not ready for public consumption, the changing of skin colour is the best example, if you make a dark skin face the body remain light skin, it's quite simply these features were not ready to be shown.

Thanks, but again, do we know if has been done with the DAO toolset? I'm wondering that, because it could be a great news for the retrocompatiblity and acceptance beetwen the toolset ans DA2

If yes, I thinks it's a good point concerning the retrocompatibility of the DAO toolset with DA2.

I've download the two files, and it works fine for me, no problem. And I can see that we can now unlock the "starting story" setting, wahouah, I'm really impressed

No, I didn't use the DAO toolset to make these mods. I've written some of my own tools and used an existing one (unrelated to DAO) to patch the GFX files.

Okay, I need some help here...

I have it downloaded and I've extracted it to the specified folder. However, my computer is a Windows 7, and while the demo plays just fine, it did not download to the folder you guys are talking about:
C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age 2 Demo

The files I've extracted are the 2 files included within the chargen.7z. I'm just a bit confused here. Is there anybody who can help me out? Many thanks.

@ Abigail
i'm sorry, what's the question?
you need to extract the archive to: My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2 Demo\\
that's usually c:/user/Username/MyDocuments....

was that the answer??

It seems this is happening everytime I load a customized Hawke:

    Loading - Start
    Area List Swap - Start
    Area List Swap - End
    Area List Swap - Start
    Area List Swap - End

Can anyone make sense of this? I found it in the logs.

No, but thank you! :) With the type of computer I have, the games instal themselves in different places and sometimes with different folders. It's kind of iffy when I try and install mods, LOL! The Demo installed itself under C:\\Program Files\\Dragon Age 2 Demo\\ instead of the usual.

I was actually able to fix it up myself. What I did was create a folder named "override" in the packages folder and just put the files there. Worked beautifully!!! :D

I'm going to sound like a complete moron here, but when it says "extract" do I just move it into said folder, or do I have to decompress it or somesuch?
Sorry, I know, I'm completely technologically retarded.

Jzadek72; Just move it into the folder. :)

Ehm, back onto the crashes I had mentioned on the previous page.. I just tested something. If I don't alter the presets, the game launches just fine. If I alter the preset, however, the game crashes. That means something in the CC is faulty. At least for me it is, then. Now I need to try and find it so I can avoid it.

Really? Damn, because that isn't working for me. God, I just wish Bioware had included a creator in the first place, it's the main thing I wanted to try out anyway.
