Wrong. In most cases, modifications want to be installed to the installed location of the program.

Make sure the files:

chargen.gfx
chargen_stage2.gfx
inventory.gfx
mainmenu.gfx
are in the "Dragon Age 2 Demopackagescoreoverride" folder where the game is installed to.


I actually tried everything and stil did not work, but for some odd reason the last time I tried it finally worked.

Played it with these mod changes on the pc and wowzer nightmare mode is ridiculous! Which is actually a good thing! I didn't plan on playing DA:II on normal "casual" mode when it shipped it. I'm glad to have got a taste.

Yeah, as long as they're in that file, it should work, always. Otherwise try running the da2 demo exe as administrator or something.

I use Fraps, I could easily create him again and just take screen shots of all of the creation menus for you.

ALSO Warning before you do this. If you want any sort of facial hair, you'll need to find out which one you want, and remember EXACTLY Where it is on the scale BEFORE you start editing your face. If you move the beard slider around, it automaticly makes your cheeks as pudgy as possible (which I find hilarious, because DAO had the same problem except cheeks would get super gaunt). You can bypass this however if you click directly over whatever beard you want on the scale, as opposed to dragging the slider, and your cheeks will stay the same.

 No, the packages folder is quite important. You have to put the files into the packages folder (either manually or by merging the folders), but you shouldn't get rid of it (and its contents) altogether.

They could do this, but unless it's in an IMG tag I'm not clicking any links or stupid imageshack bull**** to see your stupid character.

No always merge. Also unzip it to the folder that DA2 is installed to, which isn't nessessarily My Documents unless you told it to install there.

For any console sufferers out there, I was able to download the demo and the mod and play on my craptastic pc to the point where I got into the character creator. Really choppy, but you might want to try if you can't wait until next weeek.

Um...did anyone else make a dark-skinned Hawke, only to have him and his family dark from the neck up only? I'm sure this is a demo thing, but it's pretty hilarious.

Extracting to your game (install) directory: wrong.
Extracting to My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age 2 Demo: correct.

Dropping it into the game directory, while it works, is not a good idea.

Couldn't be bothered to go back through the whole thread but has anyone else got false information when reading the plot summaries for their origins import?

Whatever one I choose on mine it always has 'Loghain joins Grey Wardens' and 'Loghain dies killing the archdemon' along with other little errors.

Yeah, it's thoroughly borked. I'm going to assume that's because  this is a modded version of the demo.

I did notice that it said Connor dies, incorrectly, as did the codex entry in Origins. I wonder if that particular bug is going to carry through.
