Reposting it again, didn't get any replies. :(

But anyway..

Macbook Pro 13.3 inches

2.7GHz dual-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
500GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000

This is the newest generation of the MBP.

My
question is, I know this kind of macbook pro can run Dragon Age 2, but
what is the performance? Can I run the game all on the highest settings
available?

Because if it can, day 1. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/ninja.png

You probably can't run the game at all. Intel HD graphics are not supported. You need a dedicated graphics card.

If possible, go for a desktop computer to play games. Laptops are handy but incredibly expensive when they have gaming hardware.

2.2GHz quad-core
Intel Core i7
4GB 1333MHz
750GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5

How about these specs?

That seems like the older model Macbook pros, possibly 2008-2009. The newest Macbook pros (excluding the ones just realsed) do not come with Intel Graphics. They come with Nvidia or ATI. Also the specs you listed don't make any sense. There is no 13.3 inch macbook pro with those specs. Anyways, if you want to play games get a windows laptop/pc.

Edit: Just checked apple site...Wow it is real and its 1500$, boy did you get ripped off.

That's fine. is this a Mac? As far as I know we don't yet know what the highest quality setting on a Mac is. My guess is the highest setting is medium, same as DirectX 9 PCs. If someone has more info, they could perhaps correct me.

Yea I know, for those specs that's quite a high price. I bought my Mid 2010 Macbook for i think 799 refurbished in September. Its a Duel core 2.4 ghz, Geforce 320m graphics, 4gb ram, 250 gb Hard drive. Aside from the processor, they ops Macbook doesn't seem that much better.

Also to the OP, if you want to play video games, get a windows laptop/pc. It will be cheaper and the hardware will be much better. Aside from the cheaper price and better hardware, it will play better as well due to OSX running games poorly compared to windows.

As far as i know, mac uses opengl, da2 uses directx. I am not an expert, but I believe that windows games for mac run using wine, so maximum will be dx9, because wine does not support dx11 yet.
On linux it is the same.

Since the underlying CPU architecture is X86, same as a Windows PC, the current Apples use a switching software (called Bootstrap or Boot-something ~~ "Bootcamp") and then Windows has to be installed just like a regular every day PC, just overpriced. That is, unless / until a specific Mac version eventually appears.

There is a Mac version of DA:O and DA2. Mac users don't have to use boot camp to install Windows and play these games.
