It's a good point, the village by itself isn't so exciting but integrating Shale into the entire game, complete with voice acting and side quest and NPC reactions/choices is a pretty mammoth task. I was stunned with the amount of voice acting they had in this game already.

I'll gladly pay(I'm Insane mind you) bioware $10.00 this second for a patch that fixes the Lothering Chantry cabinet bug.(Acient Elven boots)

I'll gladly pay bioware another 5.00 bucks if they can weed out all the bugs in a timely manner.(less than a month)

I'll spare no expense to be able to progress past Lothering with those boots and no bugs.<_<

And a backrub, but not from me. I'm merely urging my disciples on. For the greater good and all that important gibberish.

Shale was ok... it is free and it adds a new companion with voices, sidequest and so on...

warden keep imo is a bit short, is well made but i hoped some more stuff to do with the castle... after you "conquer" it you cant even enter :(

if it was same lenght but with the ability to customize it a bit or add some stuff inside (eg when you finish dwarven quest you can "select" some dwarven sculptures to be placed in your keep) and i had also be nice to have maybe a big battle there with DS trying to conquer it

to get it to have a chest in the garden... well is a bit sad imo :P

I would prefer a whole new campaign round and about the length of the current one, for full price.

I think Shale is worthwhile content, though I don't know how much I paid for her and the quest. That is, I know how much it costs to by the Stone Prisioner DLC, but the real cost depends on how much a used copy of DA:O sells for.

I purchased Kingmaker in the day, and thought it was worth the money. Though as I understand it, the authentication servers have been pulled, so I couldn’t play it now if I wanted to.

Neither the ME DLC nor Warden’s Keep seems worth it to me. It appears as though the more expensive DLC is, the more content per hour I get out of it, but it’s hard to tell as DA:O isn’t NWN.

I'll point out that the Stone Prisoner is much, much more than the simple quest you have to get Shale. It included all of Shale's unique abilities, party banter as well as its personal quest which comes later. Integrating Shale seamlessly into the entire game was a huge task -- well worth the price (if you didn't buy the game new and get it for free).

As for the $7 for Warden's Keep, I'd say that's a fair price for a decent-sized adventure. Anything larger than that and you're talking expansion -- which is certainly possible, DLC or no DLC. No doubt there could be smaller stuff made available as well, and all of it will be priced accordingly I'm sure. Whether or not you think expansions or DLC content are worth the cost is, I imagine, up to you as always.

Since the entire game sells for ~ $50, RETAIL, then $7 worth of content should give 15%of  the gameplay of the full game  ($7/$50 = ~ 15%).

AT LEAST! Since the $50 retail likely nets EA $25. Say the game gives an estimated 100 hours of play time for $50 - then any add-on content should approach that value

Regarding Shale -$7 for adding Shale is too much money, I would NOT do it. Since it came with the game for free, OK.

I'm really sceptical about how much value we'll be getting for the money with this DLC

That can only be true if they can sell as many copies of the DLC as they can of the regular game and that creating DLC for $7 costs exactly 15% of what creating the regular game cost them in terms of resources.

However, far fewer will buy DLC to a game than the game itself, so they have to increase the price in order to make a profit.

There are some loose ends and blatant hints to future adventures at the end of the game. My hope would be we see a large and awesome expansion like Throne of Bhaal was (which came out about a year after BG II, I believe). With companies these days concerned about cash...I am not so sure we'll so something so comprehensive.

i just hope that their will be dlc that is about the same size wardens keep, but with more variety and more side quests, also some actual expansions that could take to somewhere just out of fereldan, say an island just off of the coast and do some kind of campaign their, also like a MASSIVE 50 level dungeon to test top level partys full of insane encouters and more dragon battles, things like that

'Tis verified. They have been saying it since before release in the forums, interviews, etc...

In all fairness, that doesn't mean a lot (Similar promises were thrown around for ME, for example), but at least it's verified they PLAN on doing it.

EDIT: I hope we see something more along the lines of NWN premium modules, admittedly I never had a chance to play them (I abandoned NWN because the original game, frankly, sucked, and now that I'd be willing to give the premium modules a try they are no longer available), but their reception was overwhelmingly positive and according to most, the prices were fair...

Actually they were still on shelves about 6 months ago.  They kept putting out the whole set of modules in big "Diamond Packs".  I've only played the original as well but i expect the modules arent that hard to get ahold of if you really want to try them.

Actually enjoyed the original NWN myself.  Granted it got a little boring here and there and the ending wasn't that great and its ****e compared to DAO; but still a very enjoyable game for it's time.

Back to the topic, I would welcome the release of full-fledged expansions in the form of DLC while we wait for the sequel.

From what I've read, the Diamond pack only contained about 3 or so of the 5 or 6 premium modules, or did I get that wrong?

I'm pretty sure there were only three, and then one more came out recently called Kingmaker, which may have included the other three with it.

I would imagine that there will be extra stuff coming in for Wardens Keep. Levi does mention that his family has made improvements to it, so I think at some point we'll get an addition where you can transition back through the door and voila, the keep is restored from its current gloomy state to a revitalised/refurbished one.

Can't really see how they can have a DS invasion of it as I don't think any of the DS had got that far north till the latter part of the game and even then not that far.

Would be interesting for those that spared Avernus if he had come up with something by time you go back into the newly refurbished keep.

I can't truly comment on the cost of the current DLCs because I bought the digital deluxe edition of the game that had them come with it, but I think they are worth the addition and cost had I had to pay for them.

I'm excited to find out what other DLC we are going to get as the writing for all of the content so far has been outstanding and it'll be interesting to see how the rest is incorporated into the story.

As for the loose ends I would imagine they are not dealt with until a proper sequel (if we get one). People have to remember that not everyone survived the final battle, thus I think if they do a sequel it will be another 'hero/villain' we take charge of with maybe appearances either large or small of some of the people involved in this story.

I think for more adventures of any of our characters from this game that are set after the final battle would have to be done by us?

I highley doubt that. It's simply not good business to release DLC that builds atop other DLC (you'd artifically limit your potential buyer base, as only users who bought WK could buy it)

Indeed, one of the biggest weaknesses of small DLC, you either have to invest time to make it work both with and without other DLC, or you have to ignore other DLC alltogether.
That's more something for modders who don't have to care about reimbursement.
