I just tried the demo, and I'm disappointed that after all the discussions about Mass Effect 2 small and unreadable text, and the promise of Bioware to solve this issue in the next games, the issue is still here in Dragon Age 2.

I'm playing DA2  demo on a 32" SDTV, and the text is really tiny and unreadable.
So Bioware, what's the point of making the text so small?

Please this time solve this issue (and don't make the same mistakes in Mass Effect 3), because I want to really enjoy Dragon Age 2, you have even included the 4:3 fullscreen mode :wizard: (no letterbox yeah <3 ), so why you didn't put attention to text.

Hope for the best
Bye

Bioware doesn't learn from past mistakes, they just repeat them till you stop complaining about them.

I think so :/

BTW, I didn't play Dragon Age Origins, but was the text also that bad on SDTV?

I haven't had an SDTV in a few years, but I think it's kind of become industry standard in some aspects to have small text on an SDTV.

I had the same problem with Dead Rising as well as other games. So I don't think it's just Bioware.

Sad to hear this. I used to have this problem myself. So I can fully sympathize.

I thought DAO text was an acceptable size. And my TV's small. ME2 was beyond unredable though.

I might have to invest in a magnifier company.

Edit: Found it darn hard to see the text as well don't  even get me started on the text on the loading screens.

I just about managed with ME2, however the text during loading screens on the demo was incomprehensible for me at some points.

That probably won't work.  It's usually an issue of pixels being cut off so that words literally are missing parts of their lettering.  When I was using SDTVs, I first noticed a problem in The Darkness' extra content and then in Condemned 2 main content.

My personal resolution was to frankenstein a computer monitor with my TV as a sound system until I got an HD TV.

It's not something that studios should be overlooking with near the frequency that they do.

I feel your pain. I had a 32 inch SDTV and suffered with many problems. The last one being Dead Space 2. It was then I realized it was a no win, it ruined the whole experience to play the game on anything but HD. So I went down to costco and bought a decent 1080p 55 inch LED lit tv with the extended warranty......I couldn't take it any more. All of those problems...went away. Even a nice 42 inch 1080p tv is less than $500....32 inch less than $300...maybe its time you make the jump too. Even buying a VGA cable and running it through your monitor would solve that problem. Just saying, as its the only thing you can do to solve the problem of playing HD games on non HD tvs...

really i play in top HD graphics on my 360 and lowest graphics on my PC and still i can read all text no problem why is it such a issue for people that some text is small you have to be very bad at seeing to not be able to read it anyway (20/20 vision FTW)

tho i just remembered the time i had a SDTV and fable 2 was unplayable cause i could not read the text on screen with out haveing to sit there for 3mins picking every word apart god now that was a pain

I want to buy a HD TV but money is not flowing right now.

I managed in ME2, but I played Origins and will play DA2 on the PC. But yeah, it isn't just Bioware. Dead Rising has this problem way worse than any other game I've ever played.

A couple of years ago, HDTV was new, so you had to support the SDTV crowd because not everyone had the opportunity to get an HDTV. But now, years later, you're really just backwards if you haven't moved with the time and upgraded your television.

Supporting SDTV would mean lowering the quality of everyone else's experience to enable the SDTV users to continue dragging their feet.

Yeah I have a 27'inch SDTV and DA2/ME2 are unreadable for me as well. I'm hoping to get a 32'inch 720p TV soon though.

OP,set your display on widescreen in console settings,it should do the trick unless you have a very small TV.

Unfortunately it seems the gamer companies are trying to force their market into purchasing HDTV's. Sorry folks, but it seems we are having progress forced upon us. Despite the fact the markets are in a bad way and prices are through the roof.

Luckly they are only few, but I notice that the games that looks worse on sdtv are all from  EA lately (Dante's Inferno ,Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age 2, Dead Space 2...).

Its just business evolving. More people now own a HD tv then a standard one so what are the game companies gonan do? Theyre gonna support the majority of people.

It's the same for computer as well. The PC crowd isn't QQing over how DA2 doesn't run on their old Pentium 3 computer from 2001. If you want to play modern games, you need a modern set up.
