In case you didn't already know, Dragon Age II is coming out soon. *shock gasp*

I recently moved and put my DA disks into a special box for the move, knowing I would want to make a 'clean' runthrough for DA2 as soon as the move was over.

Here is the trouble. In some diabolical way that I can't fathom, my Awakening disk has fallen out of it's case and spirited itself away. Naturally, Origins will not load without it. Is there a workaround here, or am I completely forked?

Have you still got the code for it, November? If so, you should be able to put the code into the EA Downloader and get a 'new' copy of it.

I have the box. Will that work? What is this magic "Downloader"?

At least one of the stickies discusses it. You use it with the EA store to replace your disk-based copies with a digital download.

I used the search but didn't find it...I'll look harder 'manually' I guess.

A note... if you use the Download Manager but don't do a full uninstall/reinstall of the game (or in your case, I suspect both games, Origins and Awakening) it *might* still try to do a disc check. That's what happened to me with ME2, although the DRM may be a little different. Of course, you can back up your character saved data, reinstall, and there you go.
Glad you found a solution.

I suspect you'll have to uninstall both Origins and Awakening and reinstall them both using the Download Manager.  But before you do that, you may want to contact EA directly, see if they can offer a suggestion that doesn't involve another massive download.

So When I go to uninstall Awakening isn't in the list. Am I supposed to uninstall Origins entirely?

Yup.  In otherwords, I think your options are to go all disc or all digital download.  Which means registering Origins with the EADM as wel, uninstalling the disc version, and installing both again.l.  That's just a guess on my part... EA may tell you something different.
