Since im getting SE i'll have access to him but personally I think he should be available to all without people needing to pay for him, games cost enough these days as it is without paying extra for content that is already designed and implemented before release. I dont mind DLC after release as that feels like it is extending and enhancing the game but not content already created thats tacky and cheap and imho belittles the paying customer (heres the game but now we are going to squeeze you for all you've got)

To bring this back to Sebastian, I wonder if he'll be more like me and Alistair, or more like a Prince who's in power.
Me- Prince, Heir, and Descendant of a Royal Sikh Warrior Family. Keyword-Warrior. My family was never the ones with millions and millions of dollars sitting there. So I'm not rich.
Alistair- Bastard Prince and Heir to the throne of Fereldan. His father's side had to have tons of money, but being who he was, he had no access to it. So Alistair's not rich.
Sebastian- Prince and sole surviving Heir to.....something. Is he rich? Is he not?
What would you prefer?
I think I'd like Sebastian more if he actually did have access to lots of sovereigns.

I'm also curious as to whether he's from a princely or a royal family. There aren't that many kingdoms to chose from, is all I'm saying

The content on the disc for any game is finalized 6-8 months prior to launch, at which point nothing may be added or removed without resetting that process. Sebastian + his quests were not finished in time for that content lock, as such, adding him into the main game would have resulteded in the game being delayed. i have heard (admittedly unconfirmed) reports of Exiled Prince content being worked on as recently as mid-february, which means for Seb to have been put in the game, DA2 would have had to have been delayed until roughly October.
extra comment: Pre-DLC days, content that was not finished in time for content lock was simply left on the proverbial cutting room floor. Be appreciative of the work that goes in to preparing this additional content, as, if DA2 had been released not so many years ago, Sebastien would have been little more than an abandoned bit of concept art as far as we're concerned.

But yeah, where? Probably some place we haven't heard of yet. I expect a lot of new things from DA2.

If he's a Prince, that makes him royalty. Doesn't mean he's got to be related to the Queen of Orlais or anything. Its one step above being a noble.

Yes, but there are principalities where both the ruler and the male family members are known as 'princes'. Hence 'princely' rather than 'royal'
I think that this might be more plausible. The Free Marches are a collection of city states. Seems possible that one of these are/was ruled by Seb's family

You want to say customers have no right.. but they have every right to demand what they like. It may make little to no difference but they do have the right.
As for it getting cut, then being added later is all up in the air. The fact with this is that it makes the game look bad when DLC is offered before the release. Its a turn off to many people. They see this and they think, "well this game is not done why should I go out and pay $60.00 for a game that is not finished and I have to pay more to get everything.." It gives a headache for the marketing department.. they have to spin it and spin it to quell all the bad press.
I agree that these devs deserve money for their hard work. But what makes people angry is that games not long ago were $50, and had more content than some games coming out today.
I wish all the best to Bioware, and I am getting the game for sure. My main point is that this leave a bad impression.

I predict that Prince Vael is aquainted with everyone's favorite stoic boy, young master Howe.
I fully expect to see Nathaniel Howe in DA2, so having some interaction between him and Sebastian would be really nice.

Customers have absolutely no right or basis to demand anything. You (the general you, not you specifically JustS) have no stake in the development of the game, you stand to make no financial profit from it's success, you have zero connection to the creative or technical processes. Your demands are made out of ignorance and hold no weight. you are free and, at least on these forums, encouraged to voice your opinions and concerns, but you do not have any right to demand anything.

High social station, family murdered/ made pariah, vague aura of badassness, interest in shooting sharp things into soft things.... they certainly have enough in common to form a friendship, i think.

Fenris is a Two Hander. Its not like you're bringing Varric with you in his stead.

I think you are confusing the word "right" with something else. I have the right to go in a store and demand that they replace my cheeseburger because its cold. Do they have to replace it? No. Do they have to do anything? No. They change your favorite meal at a restauran you have been coming for years.. do you have a right to complain? If you feel what has been done to you is unjust.. you do.
You are looking too far into the word as if I say I had the right to go to the office and change things myself. Demanding something is not the act of being owed something. Remember a right is..........
a just claim or title, whether legal, prescriptive, or moral..
If you pay for a product.. or you are a loyal customer.. you from your own perspective have a just claim.. even if it is not a LEGAL right. And in some cases it can be legal if the customer was lied to in any way(which this is NOT the case what-so-ever)
Past this, my main point was.. its not good practice and it makes DA2 team look greedy when they are not(my opinion) and are just trying to do the best they can and make a living off it.
P.S. I cannot wait to play in 6 days... ughhh :-p

No but having three of four characters being a ranged one, is a bit over kill on that... At first decided (quite reluctantly) to bring Isabela with me as another close up fighter... but the whole Sebastian/ Demon + Anders/Spirit thing is a bit too good to pass on...
Or offcourse I have to change my own class >_>, 2nd playthrough planned on having an archer though and othe third on being a warrior....

I know where you're coming from. Also, when content gets magically "unfinished in time for release" in this fashion, an increasing trend which completely coincidentally seems to be increasing along with the acceptance of DLC, it's not the developers' choice, it'll be the publishers. Look at the cluster**** of greed and exploitation of customers that is Dragon Age Legends - you see a good, fun game obscured by thousands of EA's grubby, greedy fingerprints to the point where you feel like you're just been taken for a ride.JustS wrote...
