I just want to say that I do have my doubts about how companies are suddenly managing to not quite finish interesting content, but then manage to release it alongside the game anyway for a modest additional charge. I know it's to limit the temptation of piracy, as is all DLC included in pre-orders or non-pre-owned copies, and that's fair enough. I don't really care even if it all is a scam, just as long as they keep it at this more than reasonable price. If I go out to a pub with my friends in a relatively nice area, $7 will get me one pint of beer. That'll take me about 20 minutes to drink, and there'll be many more in the night. So paying that amount for a new character and some pretty robust content in a game I (hopefully) really like is absolutely fine.

URRGHHHH... I just saw the giant spider too. Holy crap, it made me shudder and hurriedly close the tab. It's like when I get the slow-mo zoom kills in Fallout New Vegas on the giant fly or mantis enemies and have to look away.

I also see in the screenshots...Fenris is wielding the 'might of sten'...but overall, thank god, I get Sebastian with sig edition...as soon as I grab him he's taking over the rogue spot in my parties...

This addresses the concern about his family being deposed by the latest Viscount. My previous theory has proven correct: Sebastian Vael is not the prince of Kirkwall, but rather is from the city state of Starkhaven instead. Sebastian's royalty does not interfere with you becoming the Viscount of Virkwall, or keeping the current Viscount on the throne.

Nice, I've been curious about this for a while, Hawke's definitely going to be weilding some influence after all is said and done.

From what I get from the short story, it seemed like those vows were involuntary. He would have no obligation to uphold them.

Yeah, I have to say that I didn't really pick up on it in DA:O itself, but I'm reading The Stolen Throne and Gaider is a great writer. Every other book I've read that's based on a videogame or other existing franchise (e.g. Star Wars) has been a complete mess where someone without natural talent but a writing course behind them tries to act like an author. The Stolen Throne actually feels like - gasp - an actual novel. In fact, it was this book that encouraged me to carry on with my long-abandonned DA:O play-through, which I continued to completion and then pre-ordered DA2. So thanks David, if you're reading this!
