Figures, the only attractive male Li in the game has to be chaste, if only they hadn't redesigned the elves to make them look like bug eyed, teenage mutant monsters from a JRPG.

I like the idea of this in theory, but in practice I am wondering how it will play out. It may just be a short flirtation and maybe a heart felt talk to talk, but I doubt it will move beyond that. I don’t see being in a relationship and being celibate for the entire ten year span.

I agree with PurebredCorn and Brodyaha.

If the only thing we'll miss out on is the obligatory, awkwardly animated "romance" scene on the eve of battle and as long as there is a chance for character development for Hawke and Sebastian, I'm fine with it.

This. I wouldn't object to them throwing the awkward "sexy time" scenes out in favour of kiss and cut to black but the fact that it's heavily implied we cannot in fact get anything out of the "romance" with Sebastian over the course of what is supposed to be a ten year timespan is dissappointing to say the least. In my book that does make Sebastian a walking romace novel we can't romance, sure we might be able to flirt with him and have a candit talk about the meaning of love sometime but that makes it more of a "bromance" (a fashion word that I depise, yet seems to be strangely appropriate here) and not a real romance. if all the guy wants is to be Hawkes best buddy/fiercest rival in the game, then let him be that, there's no need to add sexual tension to that.

The writer, Jennifer Helpler stated that we can flirt with him.  So, I am hoping there is more than just an obligatory speech scene prior to the eve of battle.   I am trusting the writer's creativity here.  

I think it will different than DAO,  because this is a courting type of a  relationship;  hence, we should have more lines, a bit more exploration.  However, I am simply specualtng.  

I know. What I was referring to was the awkwardly animated sex rather than the "speech" part of the scene, which I don't mind at all and very much hope will be meaningful in terms of progressing realtionship between Hawke and Sebastian. 

If all else fails, at least my eyes will be spared from the inevitable clipping issues and partly-clothed dryhumping. Yes, I'm looking at you, ME2 and DA:O!

I was a bit worried for a second. I mean exiled prince, brother is favored to be the king/ruler guy and also is grows up in the chantry. Smelled to much like Alistair but it seems like he isn't, if he was i would break the game disc over my knee.

Maybe you don't meet him in year 1.

But to be honest I really see this as a glorified flirt option rather than a romance. There's nothing wrong with not having a sex scene or being celibate if it's leading to something. But it feels like this can only lead to heartbreak to all those planning to romance him and hoping for something more at the end of the game, I"m not expecting marriage after the game or even a continuation of the romance tbh. I think it'll be one of those almost romances but Seb just can't bring himself to break his vows so it never really happens.

So I'm debating if I really wanna go with Seb because I do get into characters and don't need to cry cause I can't really be with him.

I have to admit that Sebastian is the only character so far that has sparked my interest in DA2. Hopefully that will change when I actually play the game.

Oh, Carver/Bethany and Varric too, I'm looking really forward to the
siblings-elements. But of the LI's it's only Sebastian.  Before him I was
just thinking about going with Isabela for the achievements. I hope I can still
get them with Sebastian xD



I support the chaste romance, as long as it's ongoing throughout the game and
has some interesting dialogue.
