Skyrim.. Killing a bunch of dragons because the Elder scrolls were failed to be heeded.. Sounds alright I guess but compaired to Oblivion and Morrowinds storys... hmm idk.
I liked Arena's story where the emperor was trapped in Oblivion and we had to free him by reconstruction that staff, was alright pretty cool.
Oblivions was cool to, death of the emperor gate to oblivion opened.. Still for the story, I recon Morrrowind was the best elder scrolls story by far =D
Anyway what are your opinions?

Duh.
They might not be great, but they are better than 80% of games out there. Although I thought Morrowind had a alright story, not perfect, but great in comparison to most games.

What I meant is that Bethesda's game tend to make us forget what was the main storyline. I myself played over 40 hours in Oblivions before remembering I was supposed to save the world from Oblivion.

Morrowind: Evil god unleashing evil zombie virus on population and trying to kill good gods and reincarnation of god guy trying to stop him. Sounds average but the unique culture of the Dumner (dark elves) gives the plot a bunch of twists and makes it feel fresh.
Daggerfall: Go get control of the Numidium, giant golem that can crush everyone. But wait you can choose a side. Okay so what? Good and evil side choice? Nope. Try EIGHT different factions to get it for. Some evil, some good, some neutral, some just plain awesome.

Sure Vivec decides to help now.. probably because he crapped himself that Azura's prophecy came true. Almalexia is clearly insane and nuts. Sotha Sil we will never truely know since he was dead before we properly met him

This is an aspect that could've and should've been worked into the games dialog trees and probably one of the reasons why people feel that Oblivion is a bit shallow on the story - it doesn't really explain much of the lore, it's all buried away in books which hardly anyone reads.

The TES titles are open world games with a rich lore. And that is what I love about them, not so much the storylines actually. I can't remember how much time I spent just reading all those books in Morrowind, lol.
I think these's more lore in TES than in Dragon Age.
Dragon Age just does a better job of blending the lore in with the story and dialog.
I barely read any book in TES or read any of the Codex in DA:O, but I found out more about DA:O lore from just playing the game than I did playing Morrowind or Oblivion.

I have to agree there. The nirnroot quest was an epic, well-written quest of, well, epic proportions: love, war, famine, humour and nirnroots. What more could one ask?Khayness wrote...

Arena - Awesome
Daggerfall - Excellent
Battlespire - N/A
Morrowind - Decent
Oblivion - Wake me when it's over

Morrowind: You are sent as a prisoner to do some tasks for the blades, you find out you're a incarnation of some long dead Dunmer general, and you have to save Morrowind by killing a evil half-god. In a vulcano.
Oblivion: The emperor dies while you're right next to him, you have to bring his amulet to the blades master, you have to bring his hidden son to him, but the location is suddenly not save anymore, so you have to bring him to some other place, then you have to bring some stuff to him, etc. .
But what makes Morrowind so much better in my opinion, is that they actually made a whole new culture and a refreshing story, not some cheesy game with dragons, elves and dwarfes. Oblivion was just a mix of the Roman Empire and the middle ages...

It had nirnroots, though. I just couldn't face playing Morrowind again due to the lack of nirnroots in Vvardenfell. It was a painful experience.Cailean wrote...

I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion (both with expansions) and I can say Morrowind is the best by far.

Well, there's a little bit more to Oblivion than that.
Oblivion was my first TES game and I learned about
the different planes like Aetherius, Mundus and Oblivion.
the covenant between the empire and the divine Akatosh, symbolised by the sacred Dragonfires which protect Mundus from Oblivion.
the Divines/Aedra from the Knights of the Nine expansion.
the Daedric princess from doing their quests.
the duality of Sheogorath and Jygalag in the Shivering Isles.
entities such as Sithis and the Night mother.
And Oblivion reminded me more of LOTR than Roman empire.

Morrowind of course. Starting with a lowly low life that can barely kill a mudcrab in a swampy area to a big armored in shiny armor, flying god-like avatar of destruction. Not to mention the story. I always got the creeps when reading the decodified Emperor's letter.
Pretty much the same in Oblivion.
You start off as a criminal lowlife in prison barely able to kill a bunch of rats to escape from prison and end up as the Champion of Cyrodiil.
You can also end up as the Daedra Lord Sheogorath - God of madness and lord of the Shiveing Isles.

It's true. But don't think the Nerevarine did less. He/she beats the avatar of Hircine, the daedra lord of hunt. And he/she becomes so much of a legend that people can't believe they're really talking to him/her. The Nerevarine even killed Almalexia, something NO ONE will acknowledge but Lord Vivec himself.Zeus_Deus wrote...

The Nerevarine is in fact so cool that he/she can steal the hammer of Stendarr
