I already planned on being a Rogue on my first playthrough, now I'm just dithering between dual daggers or archery. Decisions!
I'd like to see what the specs actually are though, someone's goofed up.

I'm gonna put some points into the Backstab and Escape Tree even though I'm an Archer.

Imagine, backstabbing someone with a poison tipped arrow.

OH YEAH.

Uh...who goofed on the Rogue specilizations...?

These aren't goofed. What you see is a natural consequence of taking the concept of distinct classes to 11.

So, in the Backstab tree, is there an option for a stabbity stab or a twisty stab?

Are there arrows in DA2? I mean, are there equippable arrows?

The talents description of Hail of Arrows - "fires an entire quiver" - seems poinltess if a quiver isn't some finite set. DAO had equippable magic arrows.

I'm surely going to play as a rogue archer, your attack speed is really good from the first lvl. In Origins archers were very good, but very very slow. :D

LOL

Merc #1-"OWW! That guy just threw his quiver at me!"

Merc #2-"LOLOLOLOLOLOL"

Merc #3-"What in the hell does lololololol mean anyway?"

Merc #1-"Don't ask. Probably as senseless as hitting someone with a GODDAMN QUIVER!"

No, there aren't. Bows have runes slots though.

If i recall right the dev answers thread, no -- the damage type is now associated with the bow itself, its possible enchantments and active mage spells.

The description is simple flavour text. Not unlike the quivers which the character models carry.

IIRC, one of the devs (I believe it was Peter) said in one of his threads that there are no longer  fire/ice/you name it arrows, but that this time the bows are 'specialized' as fire/ice/etc.

I guess I'll add equippable arrows to the list of things I will continue to request for future games.

Somebody needs to fix the specializations. Those can't be right.  Not when Warrior has things like "Reaver" and "Templar", and the mage has "Blood Mage" and "Force Mage".  It just appear off.

One of the best things about rogues now is now more shuffling to get behind something only to have them move slightly.

im always a rouge, everything else is just to slow. plus i always enjoy stealth.  not only that but imo rouges are the most lethal because of the stealth the long distance and the high dps with the twin weapons. rouge wins all day.

everytime i am a warrior or a mage its just to annoying for me to use them there abilities arent usually very ... cool i guess. i do enjoy switching over and controlling the mage after theyve been leveled a bit tho so i can do healing and crowd controll but other than that, rouge all day for me

My first playthrough of DA:O was as a female city elf rogue. I never went back to the class when I realized the game was a breeze if you played a warrior.
Didn't care much for the flashy nightcrawler DA2 rogue. But I loved the Archer. Looking forward to that as my second play through.
