I used Ranger often as you can always use an extra target out there for the darkspawn to focus on.

yknow.........the Rogue spec descriptions kind of give the impression that you learn the spec from a teacher/master.........

I wonder if that is the case and if that applies to the other class specs..........

I'd have to go back and look, but in DA:O there were a couple of rogue specs that I took mainly for the bonuses, and not really the talents.

I think Bard and Legionare Scout were the only spec's taken for the skills when it comes to Archer Rogues. The rest were just taken for stat bonuses.

No Ranger eh?

Going to miss having my own faithful legion of wilderness creatures.

Though I suppose the mabari whistle might work the same and that would be good enough for me.

Bah ... seems that the class & specializations combos I liked most in DA:O are all gone now :(.

Thanks :(.

Also, in the full game you can always turn auto attack on.

And Rogues really do the most DPS in the game. Much easier to quickly kill a target than with a warrior in the demo.

Of course, Archers are even better, no need to risk getting into melee and you get access to wonderful AoEs. Even their basic attacks do a sick amount of damage.

Min Dex for talents (keep in mind u get 4 free dex in the fade) Max Cunning, Bard/Assassin was the best backstabber build you could get in DAO. Duelist was fail for DW. It was more flashy flashy oh that looks nice when u first see Isabella in the Pearl but I'd rather take a single hit then backstab the fool straight in the face for high damage to kill it outright and stamp out it's hostile dps off of me and the tank and take less damage in the long run.

I don't know, my warrior plowed through the demo. Taunt to get the enemies up on you, Mighty Blow, Scythe, Whirlwind and DONE! Every mofo in the joint was dead. Camera was also much more stable because there wouldn't be any fliping and cartwheeling to other sides of the screen and that's a BIG PLUS.

True. But Duelist is good for other rogue builds though (For example: Dex short bow build). To be fair nothing can touch the DPS of cunning dagger BS build.

Wonder what skills would Duelist got in DA2.

I hope they make assassin awesome and not something lame. They said a lot of people in Kirkwall are Assassins which worries me that it'll be kind of lame. Or it could just be so amazing everyone wants to be an assassin for the awesome-ness of it.

Yeah, strangely Duelist only really works with Archer Rogues and they can't even use two of the Duelist talents, just the attack/defense sustain because it clearly wasn't meant to be used with archers, lolololol.

Yeah, eventually but if I can't do my backstabber and decide to go OP range killer then it HAS to be mage, sorry, lol. Esp since Varric/archer worked very well off of tatics, I don't really see the need of replacing him on my squad. Bethany/mage did alright but her timing could have been better here and there so it'd be easier be the party mage have full control over the spells and let Varric or Sebastion or maybe even both do the archer stuff.

It would seem like Varric is has the most OP-edness as an archer so far, but i'm waiting to find out what skills the specializations have this time around before I decide on that, personally.  Archer Rogue is going to be my secondary character anyway, because I can't resist playing as a mage for my main playthrough.

They make it sound like duelist works fine for Archers now.

Hm. Tough choices for my rogue.

It's nice to see archery's getting some love from the specs this time around. Rogues were always my favorite class in Origins (though going by the DA2 demo, it seems I'm digging the mage more at the moment). For some reason in DA2, I wasn't having as much fun as the rogue. I miss being able to stun single targets and I miss auto-backstabs. I know it's weird, but I liked that animation. *sigh* At least this time they feel like ninjas, which is cool. And their armors look better, which is awesome.

Normally, I always make my first run with a mage or warrior.. this time I am going Rogue. I really enjoyed the rogue on the demo.

I've always been a big rogue fan. It was my choice for the first few playthroughs of DAO.

Was planning on starting DA2 as a S&S warrior, since I'm planning on probably dragging Varric and Isabela around a lot and figured three rogues would be overkill. But after playing the duel wielder rogue build in the demo and feeling all the improvements, sped up attacks, and awesome "instantly pop up behind bad guy" ability... gonna break down and roll a rogue first time through again. So, guess that'll be three of us heathens and Anders can be the odd man out of the group. Posted Image

No ranger very disapointing I hope it is for story purposes only no ranger even if it was a fighter sub type with full archery some due wield and basic rogue stelth and potions but unable to advance beyond the very basics and there should be favorit enemy simply as beastary like in witcher that give feed back to enemy strengths and weakness ex ememy has 20%cold resistance and vunurable to mental resistance. BUT.........................
I like the rogue talents actualy seeing evasion will take some getting use to but I'M PUMPED TO PLAY AN ARCHER

Alright so, until you become champion of Kirkwall and get the sweet looking champion armor, you have to put up with wearing those lame ass leather armors with those loin flap things?
