Well my Dog can win a 1v1 Loghaine fight so I dont see the problem.

As suggested go out and see if theres any more quests for you to clear. Your build and equipment might not be that very good either. It sounds like you have a really low attack score.
List your Spec, Stats and Gear please.

The problem is that each point of the Str gives the same chance of bonus hit(attack score) and allows you to meet gear and talent requiments and boosts your damage and physical resistance.  For a melee character almost always Str is better to boost then Dex unless your a Dagger user then you can get away with a Dex build.
