Im trying to get the achievements for Darkspawn Chronicles but it seems a bit rediculous. To get the one for keeping the ogre from the beginning - you get separated, so which do i need to re-enthrall, the yellow or the white one? Also, blight wolves are so terrible that I cant see myself getting its appreciation up, any help with that? When you get  separated from the ogre its rating drops back down to 0, do i need to start from earlier and get its appreciation up before then? Any tips for the bit with sten and the steel golems, i have never played a sword and board and the golems are so tough to kill. I have an ogre, emissary and then either a dw dagger hurlock or a blight wolf.

Any help?

I'm not alone with this problem, I see. :-)
Any advice on how to get the Ogre Keeper and Enthralling achievements is appreciated, though I doubt I will be trying again until at last a few days have passed... The DC is by far the most tedious DLC. Nothing but mindless fighting, and you don't even level up.

So i kept the ogre alive throughout the entire story until you get separated, then I enthralled the one that is down the stairs, near the levers = no achievement. Also i couldnt bring myself to get a blight wolf simply because they suck that damn much, otherwise i got everyone else to 100% liking me. i would advise just keep 5 gifts, then give them all to a wolf and kill it straight after 100%.

So you can kill a thrall once it reaches 100%, without the other thralls "disapproving" it? In that case I guess I'll try to get approval in this order; genlock, hurlock (gates); ogre, shriek (market); hurlock emissary, blight wolf (palace district).
And yes, you ARE right about the blight wolf: it's completely useless - unless you team it and its overwhelm ability with the grab ability of the ogre. Did that to Morrigan, and she was down in less than 10 seconds. >:-)

Seems that this DLC (like most other, unfortunately) is bug-ridden: :-(

For the killing morrigan bit i used the Hurlock with 2 daggers, momentum, concentrated deathroot, flaming weapons, and spanked her in about the same time :P haha. but good idea with who to gain approval with. and no one cares if you execute a thrall so dont worry about that :P

I just completed both. Heres how.
"Save all gifts."
Enthralling-
gates enthrall 2 hurlocks early, prefer dw = more damage, run to ogre immediately with all control. enslave asap. clear zone with all alive.
market- "DO NOT ENTHRALL SAPPER"
kill worst hurlock, enthrall Shriek. stealth the balista 3. use ogre to grab elite and higher, save Shriek over welm for once ogre drops them. once you kill Bann Teagen stay at the estate killing respawns at the door. Allied noncontrolled darkspawn will kill steal and make this portion take longer. Use all stay, move away from the group with an unstealthed shriek to move allied away. Once you get them past the cart stealth back and remain in control of the shriek while stealthed or the other darkspawn will come back. turn off all stay. Let you party kill respawns till every one is 100 approve. Clear drunks and Wonders group. Drag the sapper near Alienage gate to trigger. Clear zone.
Alienage - kill hurlock, enthrall emmisary, equip ring on emmisary, clear first resistance while controlling emmisary and letting uncontrolled ds tank(they respawn). Try not to fireball the tree till others are dead first. Zev pops, allow party in, focus fire, heal ogre priorty. clear zone, dont forget back ally for ather gift.
palace - Do not enthrall a 4th untill after you get ogre back. it will bug.
clear right side. camp here till emmisary is 100(it sucks, but you have to do it here or later with elites. easier here.) clear till ogre, DO NOT OPEN GATE UNTILL YOU ENTHRALL. ogre may have approval reset, ignore. Do not go to the area where ogre was held, you can trap uncontrolled and cripple your supporting army. kill shriek. enthrall blight wolf, gift wolf to 100, kill wolf, enthrall helmed dw genlock, equip 2 daggers, run flaming. do not open gate right away, go back to far west and clear side ally of knights. genlock gets all remaining gifts. now go back, clear gates and camp till genlock is 100....Enthralling.

continue along keeping ogre alive for Ogre's Keeper.

Great tips SuicidalBaby, got the last two achievements just now. :-)
I think the crucial tip for the Ogre's Keeper is to NOT enthrall anyone before you've got the ogre back in the party - something that perhaps should be hinted at in-game... Ah well.

yeah i had the same feeling about it for some time. just let it sit on the back burner in my subconcious till it was the absolute last trophies I needed.

if you recruit before getting the ogre you spawn another ogre, but more often than not it stays trapped as if you nevev raised the gate.

If anyone is having problems with the Enthralling achievement, then this the key to doing it.
Set tactics for all thrall's to not attack the enemy. (Enemy - Any - Wait).
Then you as the Vanguard get all the kills. The thrall's gain approval from your kills only. No gifts required until the blight wolf.

they gain approval from party kills. just half.  and i just explained how to do enthralling in the best way possible.  so your "just do this" is no.

btw, with all the non controlled darkspawn hitting the target with you as the only one in your group attacking the target, how long did it take to actually get the approval?   lol

Tried 3 times to have the party doing the kills as well and 3 playthroughs failed to get the achievement. Read this link did all the kills myself and got the achievement.
Even if you are right and getting "half" of approval from party kills will in fact take longer. +5 or +10 per kill which do you prefer? One run through less than an hour achieved.
Depends on you really are you in a rush to get done with the dlc or you want to do it right and be thorough to not come back to it?

lol, you get both, its better than, none, none, 10, none, none, none. lol i waited about 30 seconds for respawns, and over 2 hours because of bugs while being "thorough." If you read any part of my little walk-through, you would have realized I was being painstakingly "thorough." Your arrogance blinds you to the fact that the dlc is buggy as hell and some people might have issues with paticular areas. So I will say it again. "I just explained how to do enthralling and ogre's keeper at the same time in the best way possible while avoiding known bugs and issues. So your "just do this" is short-sight at best, insulting at worst."

You're right sorry just read your post and still there is a flaw in your method.

gates enthrall 2 hurlocks early

Best possible way is to enthrall a genlock as soon as the dlc begins, then hurlock, then ogre. Clear the enemies, and with all said and done before moving on to the market gift the genlock and he's 100% done. Kill him for the shriek and no need to get a genlock way later on as you suggested.
This even speeds up the achievement, because you don't have to grind as much, and just give a gift or two to any non finishined thralls.
This is a tricky achievement, and requires a certain approach for everyone. You describe a method that woked for you (PS3), I provide example and proof how it worked for myself and many others on (360). There's no need to be rude or agressive. Good luck and have fun.

if you waste gifts on the genlock then you can not simply enthrall the blight wolf, gift to max and kill it. Allowing you to have a better thrall for the remainder of the fights. thus saving time.

You are blind to your own actions if youre calling me rude, hipocrite.

What I described was a way to do both achievements at the same time while avoiding the bugs. What you did was dismiss it with your trite, just do this. And now you contradict yourself to attack my reasoning. You truly are blind, even to your own bs. Do yourself a favor. Just read.
