Okay how do I get Sten to talk about children? I've never had it with him ever.. The wiki says you go in front of Goldanna's House and he'll comment on the children playing which will unlock the conversation. That's all fine and dandy but he never comments on them... Does his approval have any effect or is it a glitch or what?

Any help would be cool.

In my experience, he will only comment on children if it's your first time in Denerim. In addition, another of your companions may comment instead (for example, Morrigan will say something about the market), and once someone comments, no one else will comment in that area for the remainder of that game.

So if you're trying to unlock this conversation, save the first time you enter Denerim with Sten in your party, and then walk towards the children. If someone else comments, reload, until Sten comments.  I think that this is the same deal with the conversations about human wisdom; Sten will only comment about human wisdom if he's with you on your first visit to Redcliffe (upon leaving the Chantry after speaking with Bann Teagan).

I tried going into the Market with only Sten in my party and it being my first time there and he still didn't say anything. I'll try taking others with him though and see if I can get him to say it that way.

EDIT Ah Finally got him to say it. Yeah apparently he only wants to talk when you bring other people. Just went to Denerim with Sten Morrigan and Dog and saved at the enterance. Thanks for the help.
