I think dealing with Miranda's father for good will either a side mission or another loyalty mission in ME3.

New leader of the Eclipse mercs.

That isn't a joke.

Well he could have take over Eclipse.

From Miranda's loyalty when that Eclipse Merc is saying about her father I got impression he is talking about THE boss, not some very rich guy to hired Eclipse randomly.

How did LotSB disprove that? I thought the resemblance was striking.

Donovan Hock hired Eclipse randomly.

I think the Codex or somewhere stated that the Eclipse are run by some asari.

For all we know Miranda Lawson could be a pseudonym so she remains under the radar of her father. From what we know about Miranda, about how much she cost in terms of bioengineering and education her father must be quite powerful. I reckon Mr Eldfell or Mr Ashland.

No one we've encountered in the universe yet.

There are trillions of people living on hundreds, if not thousands, of settled worlds in Council Space. And that does not even include the Terminus Systems. The galaxy is an incredibly vast place, and Bioware should not make it feel small by having Miranda's father turn out to be someone we've already met. It was bad enough that they've already done that with Liara and Matriarch Aethyta

Spoken like someone who hasn't met old schoolmates or aquaintances in strange places. Never underestimate serendipity or the universe's capacity for absurdity.

I've actually had that happen.

I was in the Marines and while stationed in Hawaii, ran into a biology teacher from high school in Waikiki. Mind you I went to high school in Philadelphia, which is about 5,000 miles away from Waikiki.

So I know that sort of thing is entirely possible. But it is at the very least, a very rare occurence.. It is enough that Liara's father turned out to be the bartender in Illium. Miranda's father shouldn't also be someone that Shepard has met.

That actually sounds pretty feasable. Since I highly doubt it's TIM, since he 'saved' her from her father. And I'm not entirely sure, but I think Miranda has met TIM face-to-face, or at least it sounds like she has.

Well, we know that he's extremely rich and powerful, supports racist, evil organisations, is full of himself, and he's Australian.

It's Rupert Murdoch.

I'm shocked that the actress playing Miranda was able to deliver the inane dialog explaining who her father is with a straight face. To hear Miranda explain how she was created, it sounds like her father is a male Asari.

It's because Yvonne Strahovski is an actress. She's trained to be able to do that sort of thing.

Harbinger: NO ONE TOLD YOU ABOUT YOUR FATHER.
Miranda: I already know who my father is. I bloody well ran away from him and took my baby sister with me.
Harbinger: NO. I AM YOUR FATHER.
Miranda: NOOOOOOOOOO!!! That's impossible!

ETA: of course, one can take the Austin Powers route with:
Harbinger: YOU ARE CORRECT. I HAVE NO WAY OF BACKING UP THAT CLAIM.

This reminds me of the Shadow Broker speculation. All those theories about Barla Von, Udina, an AI, a bunch of salarians, the Biotic God... And then it turned out to be some random alien we had never heard about.

Trust me, if Miranda's father will even be revealed, he'll be someone we've never heard of.

they put it in there to screw with us. apparently he's not very rich but specifically stated as THE richest man in the galaxy, which you would think would make him easy to point out in a crowd but for some reason even edi doesn't know who THE richest cat in the land is. now that's a real bastard(for all the aussies!).

Where do you find out Aethyta is Liara's father?  I missed that.  She's the Eternity bartender, right?

Mostly a bunch of conjecture.  She's an Asari around Benezia's Age, She talked about being the "father" of a pureblood daughter, and no other likely candidate.

The biggest hint is in the Shadow Broker's base one of the video archives shows Aethyta looking at a framed picture of a young asari that strongly resembles Liara.
