We seem to have some news. Dsurian posted this on a new thread, though quite why it was done on a new thread I don't know.

The quote is as follows:

"The last-ditch sales of the few Litho's that were held back will get a specific day listed for their inevitable release, but not a time. The specific days will be announced likely next week, so don't worry about refreshing the Stores page many times throughout the day...at least not yet."

So assuming this info is correct, then we're going to have specific days but not times, and they'll likely be announced next week.

We will be announcing the dates that each of the lithos will be released, but not the times. There are a VERY limited number available, so they will be limited to 1 per customer. If someone attempts to order more than 1, their entire order will be canceled. (Sorry to be so tough, we are just trying to be fair.)

The dates are as follows:
Normandy - 3/14
Grunt - 3/15
Thane - 3/15
Tali - 3/16
Character 3 Pack - 3/16
Legion - 3/17
Miranda - 3/18
Miranda Legion Pack - 3/18

Thanks for the update, Ms Domino, and I appreciate the 1 print / order policy. Having missed all the character releases, I'm really hoping to secure a Tali / Miranda. It's also good to know that I'll have two chances at each with the singles offered one day and the combo packs another.

Yes indeed, great that we've got dates. And we now know the outcome of the discussion on this thread about how the releases should be done, I think this is probably the best way to do it. And yeah, of course the 1 per order is good, for these quantities, it's kind of a must.

Has there been any word if the releases on the day will be staggered for different time zones? Being from the UK I would hate to miss the release if they go online at 3am GMT after refreshing the website all day.

Will these items be packaged with some extra protection and/or layering? Seeing as they are the last of the already limited lithographs there really should be some kind of guarantee, or atleast an improvement in the packaging, that these items reach their destination impact.

Staggered release? - there are probably around only 25 of each left...are you seriously suggesting they sell 15 in the morning and 10 in the evening? - and that they do this with each release?...surely you jest...

THBS's timezone is -7 GMT, with the work day likely being somewhere between 8am-6pm (that's a worst case scenario of 1am the next day for you Britons).  Also, something to be aware of...North America's Daylight Savings Time (what Europens call "Summer Time") goes into effect two weeks earlier over here when compared to Europe (so, this Sunday - tomorrow).  As it's spring, and our time is advancing an hour, while Europe isn't for another two weeks, you should take that into consideration...which basically makes THBS's timezone temporarily -6 GMT (creating a worst case of 12am - midnight - for the UK)...if my orientation is correct.  Just something to think about...

edit for spelling...

I still think there's absolutely no justification for doing a staggered release, but I suppose having a civil conversation is out of the question. Obviously, it's too late for this release, but in the future, I think there are better solutions. Staggering a release only really punishes the people who are in school or at work for the majority of the day.

Yeah, I'm almost certain there's not going to be a staggered release, it would make no sense with the very limited quantities left, would mean that only people with super fast computers and internet would get them, and like 15 per release, that just wouldn't be sensible in my opinion.

Thanks Dsurian for the info with regards to daylight savings time, I wasn't aware that this was the case over in North America.

I was asking if there was a staggered release as this has been the case with all the previous lithographs to date and was simply requesting some clarification of the release process. If the release had been staggered then that would provide two oppertunities over the course of the day in case I missed one after leaving the computer for a few moments.

From personal opinion I also thought that a staggered release would have been of more benefit to people who are in the American timezones as the litho's release window will be predominantly during normal working/school hours. For myself however based on treehouses normal working hours, I should be back from work and therefore able to keep an eye on the lithos from home. It shouldn't impact on my working day too much so in retrospect a single release will probably end up better in the long run for my circumstances.

If it's a question on releasing 10 first and then another 15, I personally don't see any issue there? Technically it is of no consequnce and the issue with super fast internet and a computer is rendered null as the difference between bidding on 15 lithos and 25 will be maringal, if the computer/internet is limiting your ability to bid on 15 items then 25 will not increase your chance of success that much.

Anyway it seems my simple question has provoked some discussion, regardless good luck to all for the following releases!

I mean releasing at random times, not necessarily splitting up the release. I realized my mistake last night, but the Social network was kind of glitchy, and went down for maintenance a few minutes later, so I never got a chance to fix it.

Duke, I understand and agree with you there. The random release window between 8-6pm will make it tricky for those in work.

Yeah, it is still a random window, we get days, but not times. Really, good luck to everyone trying to get one.

My opinion about the staggered release is that 25 would make a difference to 10 or 15, a positive difference for people trying to get them, but the difference could be anything from 10 and 20 to 25 and 50, perhaps more, but whatever the number, I think releasing more at one time would give people a better chance to get them, but anyway, we're almost certain they won't be doing that.

You Britons may cosider yourself lucky, the worst case scenario for the place I live in is 3 a.m. :P (Yeah, it sucks to live in Russia, I know). However, I'll still try not to miss a chance to get the Normady litho for a friend of mine and Tali for myself (her lithos sold out so fast that I didn't get a chance to grab one).

That's unlucky djarlaks, you'll need to be getting a fresh pot of coffee on. I'm gunning for a Tali this time too. I missed out on that release as I was away on honeymoon!

Tethoril, yeah, I surely need some coffee, but I hope they do an early release. Well, I guess honeymoon is much worthier than getting a litho, however I hope you get a Tali one for you.
P.S. If my maths is not ****ed up, then THBS's working day starts in 1 and a half hour, yes? (If they do start working in 8 a.m.)

Yeah thats about right if they start at 8am, as far as I know they are on mountain standard time which is GMT -6 as was mentioned by Dsurian earlier. I'm on using this website to keep me right with the timezones.

Good luck for the Normandy release! Refresh button at the ready.
