So almost everyone complained about the squad "armor" in ME2, yet I don't see those complaints for DA2

Yeah, there was alot of complaint when the news came but it has seddled down. It was long ago we found that out.
Myself I can se the good in this. No more dressing my companions in ugly armor because it gives better defence then the nice looking one or having the whole team look the same. Or switching armor everytime you switch character if you got a superarmor.
But sure, it does take some of fun out of looting since you will only have use for few of the things.

Me neither... I actually think it's a good idea. It completely removed the tedium of inventory management, so I could focus on, you know, actually playing the game. I'm pretty happy that's the direction DA2 has gone as well. The one concern I did have was in regards to accessories, and whether or not we can equip our party members with them. Turns out we can, so I'm pretty contented at the moment :-)

Heck yea we did.

I still stand by my opinion that they are just cutting corners. Artistically distinguishable excuse up to eleven.

There were like what, 8-9 armor models in DA:O? Altering the models with slightly distinct features for each companion could do the rick.

I have complained early and loud as one of the biggest rpg killer changes from DAO to DA2

Didnt help one bit YET

But its not like im going to stop

I remember an article from the ME2 people who said removing inventory was a huge mistake

I hope that the same thing happens from DA2 to 3

That someone is going to come in and say, you know removing companion armor was our biggest mistake

I just wish we could remove their
armor for underwear parties.

I found updating everyone's equipment in
Origins and Mass Effect extremely boring.

I'm torn: I like that my companions will actually feel like they exist on their own - outside of my character - as real people and not simply dolls that I dress up with spare armor and throw at enemies, but I do enjoy the statistical side of all of the above.

I didn't have a problem with Mass Effect 2, and I don't have a problem with Dragon Age II, I was jealous for Leliana mostly that Morrigan had unique outfit and she didn't.

Now everyone gets unique outfits and presumably stats that play to their strengths.

I dislike that my companions will now obstinately refuse to wear armour even when it would be a good idea given their combat role. I dislike that they're being treated like NPCs some of the time and PCs some of the time.

I have a feeling that when you upgrade Isabella's outfit she puts on pants

Assuming the game knows what their strengths are.  We control their stats and talents and even their behaviour - aren't we a better judge of what armour they need than the game is?

It wouldn't be so bad if each character had two or three sets of armor that they unlocked over the course of the game for cosmetic or story reasons with a different spread of stats and the like. Too bad though, EA would never do that; it takes away from DLC sales.

By what standard could you possibly define inventory management as not being part of gameplay?

I happen to think it's an enjoyable part of gameplay, but I don't see how anyone could deny that it's gameplay at all.  And yet you just did that.

Hated it in ME2, hate it now. But I've said my piece.

Keep saying it.  You won't change people's minds by being quiet.

Well I'm waiting until I play the game.  It's possible, however unlikely, that the implementation will be such that I like it.

Sides, I get the feeling Bioware will be a little more receptive to critisism then.

Honestly I don't mind, I disliked obsessing over the armors my companions wore, seeing as how I tended to just give them the best looking ones anyway (or add in the best looking ones via mods). This really just simplifies my gaming to where I only have to worry about dressing my main character.

For what it's worth, Isabella, Fenris, Sebastian Vael, and the Mabari are the only ones that will not change appearance at some point during the game; all other companions have alternate outfits.

I have brought up the same argument with items maching my preferred playstyle for the characters, all I got were "this is BoWare's game" answers in return. :wizard:

Different people enjoy different parts of gaming. I agree with Ajwol, I disliked what I considered to be the tedium of micromanaging my companions. This change gives me the flexibility and freedom to only worry about saving armors for my main character, rather than hoarding every piece out of fear that it be .002% better than my allies' current gear.
