A note before I continue.  Please make your suggestions realistic.  No huge rants about how you disagree with the "direction" of ME2 or anything like that.  Keep it specific and concise.  Hopefully a few of these suggestions make it into the final game.

And please no major plot suggestions.  The game is already done at this point in terms of the plot.  The only thing changing are gameplay, UI, graphics, etc.

1) Change ammo powers into weapon modifications.  It's a bit clunky as a power and kind of random to boot.  I mean, who decided Infiltrators would have Cryro Ammo?  It's also an excuse to give Soldiers only one active ability.

2) More outdoor areas like Overlord.

3) Menus overall are clunky and unresponsive, and it's all using the same format.  Before Mass Effect 2 came out, some guy from The Escapist told me that lots of menus were missing in the hands-on version he played months earlier, so I'm assuming they did a rush job.  So I'd like to see improved menus for upgrades, research, the entire terminal interface, and weapon selection.

1. Weapon mods/more weapon/armor modifications in general

2. Not as linear environments, although I'd prefer ME2's to ME1's.

3. I want the ending to blow my mind

4. Returning squadmates

1) No Scanning and minimal driving.
2) I want to have Ashley, my very pretty tank back as a squadmate.
3) I also want biotics to have some effects against defenses, but I still want it balanced.

Oh, and I would also like for Shepard to take his helmet off during non-combat conversations.

1. No vehicles
2. Fewer squaddies but more depth for each
3. A way to hide/show the flags on the galaxy map.

1) Customization - I'm talking squad mate appearances and Normandy management (such as the layout of your quarters, optional micromanaging of the crew in the vein of MGS: Peace Walker, etc)

2) Lively squad mates - no more complete lack of movement or interaction from your squad mates while on the Normandy; let's see people visiting Mordin in the lab, or Miranda moving around from her desk to her bed, etc

3) More in-depth romances - your romantic relationship existed in a bubble in the first two games, with very little acknowledgement outside of the dialog between the two characters. let's see it affect missions, and have a greater impact on your interactions with other squad mates. also, sex should not be the culmination of the relationship - let's see some progress beyond the bedding. i'm not looking for marriage or anything, but something more than stock dialog allowing you to end the relationship if you wish would be nice. there should be fresh dialog with your LI up until the very end of the game.

1. Greater exploration

I know a lot of people for what ever reason hate vehicles, and they hate mining, but I disagree completely. One of my favorite things about ME was the fact that I could land on a planet, and just explore it, seeing how it varies from another planet. Some times there was something cool, some times there wasn't. Either way, I got a great sense of exploration.

Mass Effect 2 didn't really have that, but they did have mining, which was just as awesome! Sure, it seemed a bit tedious, but it was still awesome to get a feeling of being a space miner, in fact, I think I could play an entire game like that.

With ME3, I'd like to see the ability to explore a bunch of planets again. I'd also like to have a greater depth into the mining aspect. Maybe we can run around an asteroid belt, and start collecting ore from it. While collecting ore there could be a chance that pirates show up and you have to defend your self, either risking every thing you mined or gaining even more from their ship, or just running with your current bounty.

2. Character Development.

I really liked the loyalty missions, they gave the characters a lot more depth. I'd like to see more of that. I'd also like to see perhaps more history on Shepard, we really don't know a whole lot of his back story. One thing that I thought was really cool in the first Mass Effect, is when you were on the citadel and if you chose earth-born, one of your past gang member tries to bribe you.

3. Bigger explosions.

1. Expanded Romance Options.

For this, I'm reminded of the fan-made 'Flirt Pack" mod for Baldur's Gate II. It allowed you to, based on your romance level with a love interest, flirt with him/her during actual game play. It also installed a script for the LI to flirt randomly with you as well. Y'know, so the object of your affections actually acted like he/she liked you during actual gameplay.

That'd be nice.

2. Increased NPC-NPC banter/interactions.

This is one area where I feel Bioware has really dropped the ball. The squad barely seems to realize any other NPCs exist. I want to see them roaming the ship, getting into discussions with each other, maybe even pursuing relationships with each other. As it stands now, they all just feel like isolated characters who exist in a vacuum from each other. I want to see stuff like they had in Baldur's Gate 2 (Yes, I do keep coming back to that), where the characters would talk with each other and even deepen their relationships with each other.

Like Aerie becoming Minsc's new Witch. That was awesome, and it even affected gameplay. If Aerie died, Minsc would go berserk. Gimme something like THAT in ME3.

3. Epicness.

Another 'kinda dropped the ball in ME2' moment; Mass Effect 3 needs to feel grand and truly epic in scope. ME2 was great, I loved it, but it felt more like a disjointed series of sidequests held together with duct tape and a few plot missions. For ME3, I want a main story like back in ME1; it was huge, it was sprawling, it had a real sense of urgency to it, like you were part of something that was really important, on which many lives hung in the balance. They need to bring that back.

1. Be able to vault over low-standing cover without hiding behind it first. This is especially painful in the Archangel recruitment mission trying to close the shutters.

2. Have biotics work the same for squadmates and Shepard. The fact that squadmates activate instantly and directly on target and Shepard using the same power has to arc his/her and wait for it to hit doesn't really make any sense lore wise. I guess because they work off of line-of-sight from Shepard is gameplay why, but it still is strange.

3. Let me access the elevator in the Normandy from both sides. As it is if I want to talk to Jack/Tali or the engineers I have to walk all the way around. Especially since that's the door you exit when you go to the crew deck/engineering deck.

1. Variety and quantity with EVERYTHING, but WITHOUT sacrificing quality and depth. In short: MOAR and BETTER.

2. Female turians.

3. A subliminal frequency emitted from the game that incapacitates everyone who plays it that happens to be a massive jerk on the forums.

Oh.  Realistic?  Okay.

1. An end to the rooms-with-boxes curse.  Make bigger, more unique levels instead of a bunch that look the same.

2. Female turians.

3. Guns, items, and powers that support each other and don't overlap.  Nothing should be obviously superior to anything else, leaving more room for experimentation with playstyle.

1) A warning like on the back of the ME1 box. "Laptop chipsets may work but are not supported". Laptop manufacturers cant settle on a standard, and uninformed purchasers cant be bothered doing their own research.
2) Bioware to ignore the demands of EA shareholders, and only release the game when its ready, not when the shareholders want their next quarterly dividend.
3) A vehicle not made out of tissue paper.

1) Weappn and Armor mods
2) Vehicle and on-foot exploration
3) Organic cover, not like trees or bushes, but cover that doesn't give away a fight is going to spawn when you approach it. Like odd shaped walls and rocks.

- A planet scanning working more like a mini game should be more fun.
- More secondary stories to explore.
- Even more deepest relationships between characters.

Anyway I can't see how this game can gets better... I prefer let this thinking to BioWare.

1. Build on the customisation of the inventory - basically alot more options and choice in weapons and armour, upgrades etc.

2. Larger, more diverse levels with a more organic outdoors feel - not so many warehouses and waist height boxes.

3. More squad banter and interaction. There are some great characters in ME so it would be great to hear more from them. Also more interaction between them rather than just with Shepard.
