2. Some sort of inventory (even if its just like the weapon lockers in ME2, as long as I can access it when I want, not just when there is a locker).
3. Larger, more branching skill trees for Shep and the squad.

1) Customization - I'm talking squad mate appearances and Normandy management (such as the layout of your quarters, optional micromanaging of the crew in the vein of MGS: Peace Walker, etc)
2) Lively squad mates - no more complete lack of movement or interaction from your squad mates while on the Normandy; let's see people visiting Mordin in the lab, or Miranda moving around from her desk to her bed, etc
3) More in-depth romances - your romantic relationship existed in a bubble in the first two games, with very little acknowledgement outside of the dialog between the two characters. let's see it affect missions, and have a greater impact on your interactions with other squad mates. also, sex should not be the culmination of the relationship - let's see some progress beyond the bedding. i'm not looking for marriage or anything, but something more than stock dialog allowing you to end the relationship if you wish would be nice. there should be fresh dialog with your LI up until the very end of the game.
I really like these, so I'll second them.

1. Returned to the ME1 iconic weapon cooldown system.
2. Returned to the ME1 inventory system with combat armor for all squadmates, weapon and armor mods, omni-tools and bio-amps.
3. Brought back the Mako.

Some of te woman in mass effect look down right silly with there high heels and big boobs. Something i enjoyed about the first game was he realistic feel it had. Althou i liked mass effect 2 more, the first game had a realistic feel while the second one feels like im playing through an action packed comic book. I personally woild profer te game to go back to ts roots.
More rpg elements in terms of its gameplay. It seems likebmass effect 2 was simplified which made the gameplay feel more like a shooter game.

2) Item modding and a less linear and God-modding research/upgrade system.
3) Meaningful consequences for imports.
My #1 would have been an overall return to the more quasi-1980's sci-fi homage stylings of the first game as opposed to the Modern Hollywood Action Blockbuster approach of the second, but that conflicts with the OP. An honourable mention goes to simply making places feel more real and large and less obviously designed and cramped.

2. Make scanning much shorter and put something to make it interesting( like listen to music that won't put you sleep).
3. Give us difficulty higher from Insanity or make Insanity much harder.

2. Higher textures for PC version.
3. Map Editor(UnrealEd), please. Wouldn't Bioware enjoy playing community made missions?

2. side quests. theres so many things i would like to see with side quests im going to cheat a little and have it as a vague point so i can get into it all. first, more story related quests. a lot of the quests in the other games felt pretty random. i get that the galaxy is vast and you might run across things that might have nothing to do with what your trying to accomplish but a few that expand on the story or even help the story along would be nice. something like if you do sidequest X it will change main quest Y (either by making it easier/harder or just changing some dialogue), or even something like in ME1 where after a main quest you learn theres something like rachni sent to other worlds. second, id like to see more vehicle quests though i might be in the minority. something to mix them up a little would be for heavy assult quests you use a mako like tank and for scout missions you use the hammerhead. third, more exploration in quests. i do like linear quests when it calls for it and it helps speed things up a bit but i also like to look around and find "secrets" from time to time. (as long as its more fast pace, it took too long in 1 sometimes that it just got boring). fourth, more credits from quests. i dont want the universe to end just cause im broke.
3. more customization. giving my team street clothes and a armour set like with shepard would be nice. basically, im fine with them being in civis on (non-hostile)hub worlds or on the ship but if we are going into the vacuum of space or into a heavy fire fight it makes more sense to me not to be half naked with a re-breather. could take it further and if your characters are in normal clothes and get ambushed they wont be as strong defensively or something. id also like to be able to arm my non-squad crew. they were ambushed once so getting some better guns and armour for them just in case would be what i would do. more stuff for inside the ship would be cool, i liked the fish and souvenirs but id also like it if i buy supplies for my crew/ship they will show up in some way (like better med equipment ext).

If you were playing a Shepard in ME2 who happened to behave in a mix of both "Paragon" and "Renegade" actions, all too often would both Charm/Intimidate conversation options be locked. I would prefer at least for the metre percentages required to unlock these options be lowered so the game did not encourage so much extremity (perform x action to unlock more x-like actions) or have a system similar to ME1 where you leveled them manually.
Or just have them all unlocked at the start. The tallying of points, the metres, they are fine, though what is frustrating is when the game so encourages a Shepard to be either completely Paragon or Renegade, otherwise too many Charm/Intimidate options will be locked.
2. More dialogue, conversations, interactions, particularly with crew and squad members.
3. A non-rushed game. As in, releasing it when it is ready, not just when it is best financially.

1. No vehicles
2. Fewer squaddies but more depth for each
3. A way to hide/show the flags on the galaxy map.
I agree completely with one, and I never thought about 3, but that is a good point.

- More squad interactions and missions like the SM, where you send other squad members to do something while you do something
- CHanging the squads armor like you can change shepards in ME2
- The ability to charge like a krogan while yelling "I AM SHEPARD!"

- More references to the first two games for the people who played them. That's real dialogue like in Lair fo the Shadowbroker or at least the talk between Garus and Tali about the conversations they had in the elevators. Not emails!
- The return and possibly the success of Refund Guy
- Some content that unlocks AFTER finishing the game to show what has become of the survivors of the Battle (Shepard, LI, Crew, etc)

2. Planitary exploration like in ME with the mako
3. Get rid of ammo powers and bring back weapon mods.

2. Squad members developing relationships if you take the two together on a mission, and some more special dialogue/cutscenes if your partner is in your party.
3. The ability to have actual sex after the one-off cutscene. Like you could call Miranda up like you do normally but instead of the 2 options, you could simply have sex. More realistic. And make your LI mention it in the conversation afterwards, perhaps have others mention it too.
So yea, I like my squad and crew.

2. Customisation: Weapon, armor, gadget, and vehicle modding and customising. Basically the armor customisation from ME2, but for everything, including squad customisation.
3. Better Side-Missions: Varied (eg. rescue, car chase, exploration, wave fight), with more squad dialogue, more friendlies and people to talk to, more varied locations to explore (cities, colonies,
caves, factories, rainforests).
There are a million other things (like more hanar) but those are three important ones IMO.

2) No more restrictions on who you can romance. If it's an option for one, it's an option for all
3) Inventory system
