hmm maybe i will rivalmance Fenris next playthrough. It's going to be another mage, I love Bethany but I miss Carver.

and Merrill is so sweet and comforting here. When she says this line, says SO much about how she thinks of Hawke and his family as one of 'the People'. The Hawkes have become her new clan.
Up to now, Gawain has just been playing with her. This is the moment when Merrill stole his heart forever. Hawks mate for life.

I do like that outfit, however, since I share this game with my son, who loves Merrill, I have this for her to wear after romance. Yes, I let my kid pick it out!

Yup. She loves that little knife! Javaris bothered her! LOL It is funny. So far she's pulled it on 6 people. Killed 5 of them. This woman is so tough she scared off the rock wraith/demon after making a deal with it, and then it showing up at the end of the Deep Roads. I've never had anyone scare a demon before.

okay...somehow Gawain has two ladies on the hook now...Both Merrill and Isabela are in their "Romanced" outfits in Act 3. When she came back with the book at the end of Act 2, Isabela was wearing hers as well...Now I'm really curious what is going to happen, this has never occured for me before.



Yes, Issa is wearing a modded one (Garments of the Pirate Queen)--note the armband, and the shoulder pad on the left arm is larger than the original.

Gawain doesn't like how Merrydeath is ruling Kirkwall now.  His main motivation at this point is looking after the family he has left.



Even if Gamlen is a troll...and apparently still thinks Hawke is with Isabela...this works for me (in my head I can imagine he's seeing both ladies)

Reno, thanks! And yes, Zhan is pretty aggressive. She is fitting my mood lately. Not that I have a murder knife in RL! I did bow up and yell at a hospital security guard yesterday. You do NOT man-handle my kid. ( My son had gotten shots of Ativan and was acting pretty strange. )

sylvan, Let us know how it all works out. In one PT, my Hawke romanced Fenris, then after the Fen freakout, went running to Anders. They were both wearing their #2 outfits at the same time. It was worth it to hear Fen tell Anders that if he hurt Hawke, he'd kill him. Fen is just so 'growly'. Love it! Now, listening to the Cruxshadows, drinking my coffee, gonna play before a day of going to doctors. YUCK!

okay the game seems to have righted itself. Issa is still sporting her romanced outfit but her dialogues are all the 'non romanced' ones. So it's back to working right (sort of) for Gawain. Whittling away at Act 3. This is the act I usually get bored in and either quit or start planning my next playthrough in.

And the Blue Ribbon in Dragon Ranglin' goes to Hawke, AKA Champion of Kirkwall.



Personally I think the mage finishing move here is more awesome.

Ugh i really hate Act 3 and this is becoming a typical act 3 playthrough (different lines but the feeling is the same) in that I am just slogging through trying to finish.  Knowing Gawain is going to side mages means less drama, but I've been playing him as very mage sympathetic.  Maybe my next warrior will be an aggressive guy who sides templars.

So I have all achievements save for 2. Because of the placement of one I suspect it's a "sided with Templars 5 times"...sheeah like that's ever gonna happen. I talk about it, but have only done it twice in a dozen playthroughs. Meredith is too nuts for me to want to take her side (though the scene with Circle Bethany in the Gallows chamber where Orsino goes nuts is MUCH much better on a templar run).

The ONLY thing I'd side with the Templars about is hiring Cullen! He could come work for my Hawke!

I looked it up online. it has to be "Sided with Templars 5 times in ONE playthrough". So I'd have to turn the Starkhaven mages and feynriel over to the circle, murderknife Feynriel, let Meredith lead us against the Qunari in Act 2, pick her side in Act 3 in the argument at the beginning and agree with Samson about the mages during "Best Served Cold"

I doubt I'll be doing that any time soon. I hate Meredith.

Which brings me to another weirdness in the game.  Anders' rivaled dialogue doesn't give you any leeway, if rivaled he thinks you're Meredith's ****, if friended you are on the side of mages.  I wish there was some other option in the dialogue to encompass the "I agree with your cause, I just hate you." viewpoint.

That's how I'm playing it in my head anyway.  Gawain loves his sister and wants her freedom (and by extension other mages) but hates Anders.  Like HATES him.

Yeah, if you just bash Anders for being an abomination, he thinks you're anti-mage in general. A flaw in the game mechanism.

The problem with Anders' dialogue is it's kind of jarring and immersion breaking.  I experienced it with Kit too.  She liked Anders even if she was rivaled to him (mostly cause she thought he just needed to lighten up and he'd be a fun guy).  She went all out free the mages, but when he accused her of being Merrydeath's b*tch in Act 3 I was all ...wtf??? when did I EVER support the templars?

Oh one other condition to getting the templar achievement is turn in Keran and get him thrown out of the templars.

All things I just don't like doing in the game.  I've done the 'turn the mages over to the circle' part but I just can't do that other stuff.  Just too against who I am.

It's in MotA in the area where you find the Andraste's Mantle.  I wonder if anyone else can duplicate this or if it's a random thing.  Either way I died laughing.  I thought after the third playthrough nothing would surprise me no more.  Oh cheese.....<3

lol it does look like cheese...and I wouldn't put it past Bioware to have those bones resting under some 'stinky Orlesian cheese' since Alistair mentions the Orlesians having them at their parties...but maybe it's a rock?
