Ripping through Act 2 like a hurricane. Some more pics.

Raph tries to comfort Leandra as she's dying.


And Fenris comes to comfort Raph in his estate. This is just so senseless, but then i guess that's the point isn't it? I hate this quest. It always makes me cry.


The wealth of dialogue that went into this game is staggering.  I keep finding new lines every time I play.  You can lie to Hubert to save Sabin's life (during Inside Job).  I am assuming this is an available 'social' roll ONLY for a sarcastic/charming Hawke.  You can say the raiders threatened his wife and child.  And killed his dog.

It works so far, Lyanna is a Rogue base class with some mage spells (mostly the elemental and maybe a few enthropic later on.)
And I really love Raph - he has something very noble about him.
Raz: that's great - and as soon, as I have figured out how, I will follow you too. At the moment , I am glad, I'm able to upload pictures in the right albums

Edit: sylvan: I need to try this line with Hubert - Lyanna is the charming/sarcastic girl, so it should work. ANd yes, I hate the Leandra quest as well. I like Anders comforting, but it doesn't help really.

By the way: why can't one give the dog two names? Now Lyannas Dog is called Sparrow... and everybody knows that it should be Captain Sparrow

hehe Captain Sparrow. Would fit in well with the theme we got going on the boards here with pirates, pirates and more pirates. Maybe call Dog "Jack"? Or merge Jacksparrow?
Thanks for the link, I'll take a gander at it for my next Hawke.
And yea, none of the LI's can really make it comforting for Hawke because...well, there's really nothing you can say at that point that will make it feel less wretched.
Frankly I think the convo with Aveline about her dad is the best of all of them.  I always feel better after that anyway.  Still hard but at least it's a little better.
And come to think of it I think Kit said that same line about Sabin's family...maybe...So it would be sarcastic/charming Hawke.

Aveline comforts Hawke.  I like this line immensely.  Basically she's saying, grieve in your own way, and then move on.  Smart lady.  I really love Aveline, the only companion I like more is Varric.

good morning, Tren.

A couple shots of my favorite quest in the game. I usually save this one till after Leandra dies so I get a little 'pick me up' after the weighty angst of the toughest quest to do.

First Raph has to break up the catfight...Maybe get some Jello or mud?


And then an awkward 'date' with Donnic. Really the guardsman isn't his type, but Raph is doing a favor for Aveline so, why not?


So, when Aveline chickens out, a trip to the Wounded Coast for some bandit fighting and moonlight walking is in order.  But again, Aveline epic fails.  In fact, at this point, Raph thinks shooting himself in the foot would probably hurt LESS!


The moment of truth came...and of course, Aveline failed again, the poor dear.


But it all works out in the end and Raph gets a smooch of gratitude from his 'big sis' Aveline!

Thanks sylvan and Tren! I love The Long Road! It's so funny watching Aveline fumble when she's normally so confident. I adore Raph's face in the first pick! Maybe he's thinking he needs to get a bucket of cold water to throw!

lol yea LadyS, I think that's why I love it so much too. Aveline is usually so in charge, but here she's as awkward as a high school freshman dealing with a first crush! Right down to the passing of messages and using go-betweens.

At the end of Act 2 now. Just encountered GW Alistair and Bethany. I love his King cameo cause you get to say more to him (and because you get to see Teagan) but he seems much happier/less pressured as a Grey Warden.

Alistair mentions the Hero of Ferelden (if in a romance with him). I like that "she's always picking this stuff up"---she was a Dalish rogue. I wonder if the line alters a bit if she's another class?


The siblings part for now. I plan on doing Legacy not long into Act 3 so I can use the items I find there for most of the final act, so they will be encountering each other again soon. Also she'll be around for Nathaniel's quest too.

Tren's story continue (act one)



Tren met Sister Petrice, who ask to escort a mage Qunari out of the city.



It was called Saarebas, which Petrice name him "Ketojan"



Tren doubt that Qunari can communicate in the big collar and stitched mouth...



a group of thieves threaten Hawke to hand over Ketojan



Ketojan unleash his power, blast the thief off the path



surprised on the Saarebas abilities



fight the thugs



Saarebas was being angry, need to be stopped at once.



Tren command Ketojan to calm down..



Tren and Ketojan made the way to the surface but the new threat came on sight.



Avraad, the Saarebas controller demand Tren to hand Ketojan over but after a short conversation, Merril been spotted as a mage. The Qunari targeted merril and the attack began. <_<


"Bas, saarebas? BAS SAAREBAS?!!" they kept rambling like this  



too slow, now time for you two go!




Tren managed to free Ketojan with his magic and tell him to get his freedom.


Tren might tell something wrong, Ketojan decided to burn himself.

But in the last moment The Qunari tell Hawke "this is the way of the Qun"

may be Saarebas was right, death is only his true freedom:(

Love the story pics, Tren. I am really enjoying watching your mage's progress through the game! Your pics are always so bright and colorful, you must have a really nice PC play on. Mine always seem to be too dark.

yea you got mine beat by a mile. Fun times on the video games! Mine is 3years old but still a good one when I bought it and still runs well.

Okay some final shots of Raphael's Act 2 encounter with the Arishok. Fortunately, Varric's spin doctoring makes for a much better story... I think Cassandra is in love.


...than "Raphael ran screaming in circles like a little girl, taking potshots when the Arishok was off balance after charges." It just sounds better the other way I think...I thought it rather apropos to the entire scene that the killing shot was an arrow to the groin...ouch!Raph, that's SO not cool hitting a guy below the belt! 
I suck at action shots, I just wanted to catch one of Raphael spinning after doing "Assassination".  Didn't quite catch it how I wanted it, but then saw the way the arrow angled into the Arishok and realized I got a better picture than I had intended.  I have to pause to get decent action shots.
And Kirkwall has a new champion...wonder if i can get that embroidered on my jacket?

Hi Swin! Just hit DANexus. If you check out some of the previous pages of posts you can see some models of different mods we all use, and read discussions of others. PC DA2 is great. No Toolset but a lot of talented folks have found a workaround for that.

At the very least I recommend getting the character creation mods for nicer looking Hawkes.  If you have any questions about how to adjust the chargenmorph to insert them in your game, just ask!

Really modding is easy.  I picked this game up on PC for the mods with no experience either.  Most of the mods, especially the companion morphs are mostly just download-unzip-drag and drop.  And then for the other character customization stuff a chargenmorph compiler is essential, as well as enabling the dev console.  Not hard, but some people can't get them to work sometimes.  If you have any questions about any specific mods feel free to ask me!  Or any of the reg's on this forum LadyS and Raz are especially helpful

I really love my character the way he is so I wouldn't want to mod him at all, well with the exception of a nice set of rouge armor, for the most part I think I can handle the download-unzip-drag and drop so I will try that for now.  Baby steps... thanx for the advice, it's much appreciated

To me, these are classically handsome men, who starred in many old swashbuckling movies.  I grew up watching them on the silver screen and they are kind of the standard I put to masculine beauty.

LOL @ the final shot. It DOES look like Fenris got caught with his hand in the cookie jar! I also like the shot of Nyla shown through Anders' special effects, and the one of tempest. That's a really cool camera angle! Damn why can't I get good shots like that!?

Yes, Tyrone Power is Raphael's 'model'.

I figure Varric is basically turning the Champion into the equivalent of a movie star with his tales, may as well go for an exaggeratedly beautiful appearance and it would still be in keeping with the lore of the tale.

The last shot was one of those 'happy accidents'. I had paused the game to go get something. I came back and looked at it and started laughing. As far as the other shots, I pause, press 'V' , zoom in or out, and move the camera all over the place! I like to try and get interesting shots.
I agree, Varric is making Hawke somewhat larger than life!

Hm hm, you sound like me! XD DA2 is the first PC game i've played (if you don't count the Sims).

LOL I'm too busy trying to kill stuff before it kills Hawke (and company) to be able to catch the good scenes/shots like that.  So most of my pics are shots of cutscenes.

okay...some highlights so far of Act 3 for Raphael

First, siccing Spirit (his mabari) on a burglar trapped in the wardrobe.  Guess he was trying to find Narnia?


And next meeting the yummy Nathaniel in the Deep Roads...


Baby Sister misses Carver, Mom and Raphael.  OMG Grey Warden Bethany is just so sad, she makes me cry.  Poor Hawke even said 'I won't try cheering you up then'.  It'll be a while before I do this scenario again!


Emile won't 'kiss and tell'.  Hell, honey, half the fun is the wild tales you can tell...Well, he only JUST got his V-card punched so he will learn...
