Now I'm the late one.
I actually set up both DAO and DA2, but DA2 is causing me some problems.  However, DAO looks and plays BEAUTIFULLY!!  So I am looking to mod it first.  I am reading the wiki on the Nexus site, and it looks like installing the DAModder program, might make it easier to manage..(?)  Any advice you wish to throw out would be graciously accepted.

As for DA2, my graphics card is being replaced this next month (not a good card for a gaming box, but husband didn't know....bless him)  I can play it, but I had to lower the res in order to do so, which kind of makes mods not as.....hmmm....desirable at the moment....heh!  I may try a few more things to see if I can get res back up, and still play the game, but don't hold a lot of hope.  That's alright; I'm patient.  Besides, DAO will keep me plenty busy until I get the new card.  I completely understand why  people complained about DAO on the xbox (that's how I played it in the past, and even though it didn't look very pretty, I still had fun.....enough fun to play through it a half a dozen times.)  DAO is so pretty on the PC, and plays much better with board/mouse (at least to me). 

Off to read some more, and then a bit of play!

Thanks! I have had a lot of people pm me for her sliders, I guess I should post it on the thread now Also, does anyone know where a tutorial on how to edit face textures is? I have searched and searched, asked others with no response. I know how to create face tattoos and extracted the .dds files, so is it like that? Sorry I have to ask here, I have just been trying for months.

These are the mods for DA2 I have currently downloaded, and I am about to install, and see if they work:

1) Chargen Revamp
2) Pineapple tree Makeup Intensifier
3) Pineapple Tree Vibrant Eyes
4) and a few stand alone armor/weapon packs by Lapis

I am trying to start easy (just like I am doing with DAO), so that I have the least chance of screwing things up..heh!

Off to see if I can get this to work, and make a new Hawke.

Got most of the mods I downloaded so far, to work (only an armor pack decided not to work).

Thanks @Alexandrine! I adore those eyes on your Leighton Hawke; I'd wolf whistle at him! hehe...I looked at getting those eye mods myself, but I am starting easy with mods....still haven't used an editor or the console. I do have a tendency to give my gals the 'tomboy' or 'girl next door' look. I guess I just relate to it more (I am sooooo not fancy...HA!)

Thanks April!  I was thrilled when I finally got some of these mods to work...thank god there are some very kind, helpful and patient people on this thread.  And thank you so much for that link you sent me; it got me to the right place without a bunch of searching....yea!

Today I finally got Natural Bodies, and ZevranASAP to work on my DAO.....ummm....need to do a bit of 'configuring' on Natural Bodies....all the men are at full mast *nudge,nudge,wink,wink*.

Let me know if/when you decide to get DAO/DA2 for the PC....I'll give you this of mods I have gotten to work properly (without too much headache for a noob like me ).

Coldwetnose I also recommend the IRS Alistair mod as well. IRS Alistair is a must have for anyone who loves him, but I would recommend it to anyone who just wants to fix a lot of bugs and errors in the game with dialogue, and just adds a lot to the romance if you want to romance him. That broken kiss for his first time in camp was fixed, and added a couple of nice scenes to the camp and an origin specific scene where Alistair spends some time with the lady of his choice in an origin related atmosphere. Also, a less crappy couple lines were added to harden him and an option is given in the end for you to knock him out at the Archdemon instead of him just doing what he does to save his LadyWarden. IRS is my 'must have' DAO mod, even when I don't romance the big guy!

Another really fun one is the Ser Gilmore Mod, adding Ser Gilmore to the party after Ostagar (you meet him in Lothering) and you get to find out what happened to him after Castle Cousland was overrun. The writing is a bit fanficish, but overall I enjoy having him in my group (especially if you like playing a Cousland PC) and he has a lot of conversations to have with the PC (even after every other companion is all done with talking). Give him a 2 hander (because he's originally specced S&S--the slot Alistair always fills in my group) and he's a beast in combat. My usual group is: Warden (Usually a mage), Alistair, Gilmore and (Either Zevran or Leliana for trap/lockpicking). Have to be careful what mods you add to that one though. I always have trouble with game crashing if I take him along with me to the final fight on the rooftops, otherwise, it plays like a top with my game.

Aside from that, there are oodles and oodles of good mods out there to fix appearance, hair, eyes, makeup etc. Have fun!

For DA2 Mods, I recommend just one (lots of good makeup, armor, etc things you can find on the Nexus, but I won't mention those, everyone has posted so many nice ones here already).  The one I recommend is a little mod that adds the creation/spirit healer tree to Merrill so even if you don't have a mage-Hawke, you can still pick and choose your party and aren't forced to have Anders with you nearly the entire game.

^This^ I love having Ser Gilmore with me. That guy plows through everything. And the romance with him is fun, and can be carried over to Awakenings. As sylvan said, there are a ton of great mods for DA:O & A.

For DA2 ivyHawkes mod for the family is a must for me. I also have a lot of re-tex's for all the companions. After playing so many times I like for things to look different!

@Sylvan - Thank you so much for the suggestion. I was looking at the Alistair IRS, can't remember if it is compatable with ZDF bug fixes from ejoslin. I 'think' it is. My current run is a Zev run, but I also started a female HN DW rogue, for Ali. The ZDF mod does fix some Alistair stuff as well, but no added romance scenes for him (fairly obvious, I would guess...heh).

I thought about the Ser Gilmore mod as well. Wouldn't mind a male ginger running around camp/quests. I think I will wait to install, once I am done with my current CE. My HN is literally just finished chatting with pops, Howe and Duncun..(I was just itching to keep using the CC the day I made her..*wink*), so she is brand spankin' new.

@Lady - I just read about the ivyHawkes last night....I'm intrigued. 'Course, I am still pretty green on modding DA2.....I would love to know more about using the console (I'm not even sure what it is...is it like using UNIX or c:prompt?? See, no clue..). I had downloaded a weaponpack that was supposed to spawn in your delivery chest, but it didn't work. It does say that if it doesn't show up, you can use the console to run it, but......*Derp*

So....got the new DA2 mods to work, but I could just fool around in the game (work made me stop...<grimace>) long enough to snap a few pics of Harley, and my new mage fellow...Castor.  The armors I downloaded are working now, as are the changes to the CC....I just wish there was an easier way to move those damn sliders around......sheesh!

cold, glad you have things working! I can't give any advice on the console because I can't get it to work on my computer. Tried 6 times! However, you CAN use the pyGFF editor to make the armor/weapons LOOK like something you need the console to get. I was determined! I wanted to try out the 'Natural Bodies' but I share my games with my 14 year old, so.....didn't want him to start up the game and be  !
