I'll hazard a guess that driver is the latest one. (i'm pretty sure it is but correct me if i am wrong)

The latest Nvidia drivers optimised for newer graphics cards have lately been causing problems with the 8xxx and 9xxx series cards. Best thing for you to do is to roll back your drivers and that should fix the problem. If that doesn't work pop back and we'll look at other things.

Just hit up your control panel and select your graphics card you should see a button that says "roll back driver" next to it click it and follow on screen instructions it'll probably get you restart then just start up the game and it should be rock and roll from now on. Just don't let windows automatically update anything to do with your GPU. the new drivers are no good for your card.

Moondoggie... may I ask...  what is your source on this statement?  Upon what do you base this?

Probably nVIDIA's own forums, where it's been a relatively frequent topic, or perhaps the NWN2 forums here on Bioware Social.

Personal experience,Experience of others,Experience of people having problems with games on here and other forums.

There is a pattern that emerged in the last year i've notcied with people who have older GeForce cards experiencing graphical errors and crashes due to the latest drivers. One can only presume whatever the newer cards have going for them doesn't work so well with older cards. I've noted a performence drop on 9600GT and 8800GTX cards with the latest drivers. I've seen many models on forums experiencing similar issues running the latest drivers.

I have no official source for my statement so take it as you will. Not that Nvidia would admit their screwup and lack of support for older cards.

Merely curious... I've had some non-Dragon Age issues with a Frankenstein's monster of a cobbled together PC.

No doubt it is sound advice in this and many cases.

p.s.  Love what you've done with your hair....

It has in many cases solved several issues with crashes and performence drops for 8 and 9 series GeForce cards in my experience so it's always worth considering rolling back the drivers just to see if it's a quick fix. I do enjoy cobbled together PC's i have a few of my own that i use for testing parts or for running an old OS so i can still play Windows 95/98 games without issues. Nostalgia is fun.

And thanks i was told my old avatar looks moody so i replaced it with a happy looking one

it's right under the update driver button. you want control panel then device manager then click display adapters and select your graphics card a box will pop up click the tab that says driver and then roll back driver.

You can download vintage Nvidia drivers by going to the main Nvidia site and selecting "Beta and Archived Drivers":

There are several other things besides drivers that "might" be causing an issue. You'll need to explore some... http://social.biowar...8/index/6265850 might be a place to start.

Also, are you running any Mods?
