my bro gave me only one expansion he purchased a year ago[brand new],it's SOU
please anybody tell me if i could use this SOU's cd key to apply for an account able to play multi-p game for him?

No, you'd need the bare minimum of the the original NWN to play anywhere at all. Nearly all places require both expansions SOTU and HOTU these days. You can buy the Diamond edition of NWN which includes both expansions from several online sources as a digital DL for only around $10 these days. That's the best and most reasonable way to go now.

You can get new keys from Gog or any of the other download sites. It's really cheap. Cheaper that attempting to find an old copy of the Main Original Campaign, and HotU combo if they can even be found.

You don't even have to download the version you purchase, other than to have a new copy already expanded so you don't have to patch it etc.
