I'm starting to wonder about this now.

In Mass Effect Evolution 2, we see Saren meet Ashley's grandfather.

I always assumed Turians had a similiar lifespan to humans, but if Saren met someone who's most likely dead of old age and he was alive and kicking when he faced off with the granddaughter, does this mean Turians have an extended lifespan?

Probably not on the level of Krogan or Asari, but maybe a few centuries.

I think there was a dev comment that turians have a similar lifespan to humans.

Saren was born in 2139, 18 years old when he met General Williams, and 44 years old by the time of ME1 in 2183.

Turians have an average livespan equivalent to humans. Both species seem to top out shortly after 150.

Average lifespan (not including unnatural death) speculation:

Humans: 145
Turians: 140
Salarians: 35
Asari: 1,200
Krogan: 1,000
Quarian: 100
Drell: 60
Hanar: ???
Volus: 85
Elcor: 500
Geth: Infinite
Batarian: 80
Vorcha: 20
Rachni: 1000
Yahg: ???
Virtual Aliens: Infinite
Raloi: ???

Keep in mind most of this is speculative based on character interaction. Although Human, Salarian, Turian, Asari, Krogan, and Vorcha are based on in-game statements about lifespan or codex.

I think krogan may live longer seeing how okeer is over 2000 years old or maybe he is the exception

wouldn't this mean there have only been 50~ generations of asari and krogan since the reapers last came? that doesn't sound like alot...

I have a hard time believing quarians max out at 100. I'd say 70ish tops and that'd be rare. With their immune system already weak they'll only get weaker with age.

Not really. It depends when they've reached a mature age and are capable of reproducing.

Besides, just because we've been around since the last Reaper invasion doesn't mean we were all space-faring galactic overlords and the prime target of their genocide. Heck, anatomically-modern human beings have been around for 4 Reaper invasions.

Though I do think that 50,000 years isn't really long enough to make a lot of sense. Even 1 million years isn't a lot of time on a galactic scale.

A human generation isn't 150 years, it's 25-30. So asari would be whatever their prime breeding years are.

Just some species mentioned in news reports somewhere but then never ever used or seen in the game.

I believe that the Salarian lifespan is that short, due to their hyperactive metabolism. And what about the Protheans and Keepers, there are no data about their lifespan?

Yeah, Salarians live to be about 40ish because of the hyperactive metabolism (So I put Mordin to rest a little early in ME3) And on the lifespan of Keepers and Protheans, no data at all. They should have made that a question you can ask Javik...

Keepers probably have an indefinite lifespan, as they're not natural lifeforms anymore.
I assume they were biologically altered to live as long as possible, not withstanding suicidial tendencies when you attempt to analyze them (they release acid inside their bodies and dissolve into worthless goo).

Protheans probably have a standard lifespan, around 150-200 years maybe.

On a related note: is there any indication as who is the oldest Turian we meet in the game is? It seemed like the mechanic on Noveria was pretty long in the tooth...

Drell are 85 standard galatic years, it's in the codex.
