Well now you are adding stamping your feet to the earlier throwing the toys out of the pram. You didn't like it, fine...... I really have zero problem with that, honestly.
As has been suggested BioWare themselves created a thread for feedback, that is the place to go with your ''I'm not buying this game'' input. If everyone who had already replied to that thread decided to make an ''I'm not/I am buying'', thread the forum would quickly become unreadable.
And my previous point is valid, if you are cancelling a Sig Ed then it is just rubbing it in the noses of the large number of people who have been disappointed by companies cancelling pre orders. ESPECIALLY when there is a feedback thread.
And it is narcissism btw, but then I am 45 and have no adult supervision so forgive me!

Why does everyone think they need to make a thread about why they cancelled a pre-order?

It's just like WoW quitters. They say they cancelled their subscription because of "outrageous" druid nerfs, expect everyone to care, and then their activity feedback says "Earned the Achievement: Cataclysmically Epic, 15 minutes ago" <_<

Seriously though, if you doubt the game will be worth buying, don't come here to cry about how you cancelled your pre-order. Instead, wait for reviews and player feedback and then rethink the issue. If you still don't want to buy the game then kk, it's your money.

Why is everyone basing the whole game on a demo? For all we know the demo might have been constructed in a far later timeline before the game actually went gold. There's also a possibility changes were made during that time, then or even after. I pity those who cancelled their pre-orders...

Why do people like you think that everything that was wrong with the demo will be magically corrected in the game? Works both ways, except the people who cancled do not waste $60.

But there are more healing options in the full game.

The internet, and the BSN in general, is full of self entitleted jackasses.

So WTF are you still doing here?

If you honestly believe the the full  game will be bad amd Bioware will not do anything about it the what are you still doing posting on these forums?

Criticism is fine, but if you are basically saying you are not a consumer of their product, then why on earth would or should they care?

In hopes that it reaches the ears of a corporation that puts money above all else

The only reason to make these stream line changes is to pull in more customers

If enough people drop out then the stream lining is a failure

It is not trolling

It is not against board rules

Maybe we doing even have to wait for DA3, a cool down could be changed by a patch

Spell can be altered in 1.01

The squeaky wheel gets the patch, the quiet RPGers get the silent boot to the curb

I love how you constantly complain that a level 1 in the demo can't be a full, dedicated healer, and then completely ignore the fact that the full game has a healing class

Couple of questions OP.

Did you set Aveline to attack the Ogre? Did you move melee out when the ogre raised his hands for his aoe ground smash attack and move to the side when it charges?

The demo doesnt require any healing at all if played with a small degree of strategy and awareness.

Dont mean to be rude here but your post sounds more like you didnt have either of the above and as a result you think its the games fault.

On the healing change, it could do with a slightly shorter cooldown, but overall i approve. Choosing the right time to heal is much more satisfying than spam healing, and along with potions i find works well.

In you OPINION its more engaging and more fun

in my opinion its a action game with some light rpg elements

Im not boycotting the game, but I will keep telling them about the RPGers they are alienating in their almighty search for the bigger sales report

And no, i wont stop posting, i wont stop talking, no matter what

LIGHT RPG elements?

REALLY?

Lets see

inventory: check
Abilitties: check
Character creator: check
Customizable stats: check

I'm pretty sure I've asked you once, so let me ask you again. What about DA2 isn't an RPG?

Still waiting on that answer, buddy

It's too bad that you gave up based on the demo and a few assumptions you made which I honestly feel are incorrect.

...I came to this conclusion based in part on the demo with the lack of a viable mage healer build. I have a creation tree but it is useless...

You didn't even have access to all of the trees, particularly the Spirit Healer tree. I also would not personally call the creation tree useless. It certainly helped me anyway, specifically in the battle with the Ogre that gave you so much trouble.

As is seems now the only viable tactic (the only one i was able to beat the demo with as a mage) is to run around in circles while the mob in question chases me, all the while the party is hot on it's heels hacking away at the creature who never seems to notice.

I don't think this was the typical player's experience. Realize that in the full game there will be easier setting(s) that may make this less of a problem for you. Utilizing taunt with Aveline essentially trivialized this encounter.

Playing the demo i was unable to beat it with a mage class until i ran around the entire time kiting the ogre in one very large circle until the rest of the party finally killed the ogre. All that i had to do was enough DPS to continue to draw the ogre's aggro while the rest of the party killed it. While i was happy in that i finally beat the ogre in the demo i was not happy with the way i was forced to do it. Running around in a big circle for 5 to 10 minutes was not entertaining

Yeah..definitely not the typical player's experience. :?

i did not enjoy myself and i am not going to pay 60 plus dollars for a software title that has this kind of tactic as a core mechanic. The tank and spank mechanic seems to have been completely removed and with it the need for any sort of party balance, bring all DPS and hope you do enough damage while your character flies around on the map like a bee hopping from flower to flower

Of course it's your money and your decision so even if you chose to cancel your preorder because you don't like the name Hawke, that would be perfectly acceptable. But it's not fair to say that the particular problem you are complaining about has anything to do with the game. It has to do with how you played it. You used the tools they gave you incorrectly and you didn't have fun doing it, that much is clear. Since you like analogies so much, let's say it was like if you purchased a knife and tried to chop up all of your food with the blunt end, then complained about it not working.

Honestly, it sounds like the problem was with how poorly you played the game, rather than the game itself. I had no problem defeating the Ogre with my mage, nor any other class, really. I would take a serious look at the tactics you were using, the builds you'd given your npcs, and how you were dealing with the two simultaneous dangers of Ogre and DS Mob, before assuming this is an issue with the game itself ... because your difficulties seem to leave you in the minority here.

But, all that said and done, no one is going to beg you to stay ... if you were looking for a reason to leave the game, and you found one, then more power to you. I hope whatever game you move on to is more satisfying.

Sorry to hear that you feel that way OP.

I think even though they may have slightly nerfed a healer mage, every other class type has been brought up on par with mages in origins. I still think the game represents a real value in the gaming world today

I guess you did no research on the advanced class.  Nor how even if they did not allow for the spirit healer advanced class, you are not shoehorned into just damage.  As with DAO, which you may have missed, you can be a very good Crowd controller.  You can still throw out lots of support with different trees.

But let me know how you enjoy the game when you purchase it later. Thanks! <3.

I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed enough with the demo to cancel. I was also disappointed with the demo and don't like many of the changes but I am keeping my pre-order because I still think I will like it more than many of the games on the market even if I do not enjoy it as much as Origins. As for the evasion and running around, I am fine with that. It's a strategy you need to employ on a lot of action and shooter games. It doesn't make sense to stand still as an easy target for the enemy and expect to stay alive. So that change I am fine with but a lot of the other ones I am not. But I am still looking forward to the game.

I think the Spirit Healer specialization probably helps along with that but, even if you do plan to become a healer, I think it's always good to have at least a couple of offensive spells as well.

I was thinking of being a healer in the demo as well, but it's really better so early on to be able to help your allies not get overwhelmed by the groups of darkspawn (I did still use Heal, but the cooldown just didn't make it as viable for the beginning battles).
