I'll make an 'omg why didn't I cancel my preorder?' thread after release.supremebloodwolf wrote...
I bet we'll see another one of these threads the day just before the game is released

Not everyone has to have the same opinion, and forums don't exist only for yes-men. Criticism is good if constructive.

Forced works if that was only way they could continue the demo.
Approaching combat like you would in DA would get you killed, unless you pause an awfu lot. Like I've seen some PC gameplay videos that are 6 minutes of pausing and 4 minutes of movement to finsh that part of the demo.

And I thought this game was for MATURE audience.
Someone expresses concerns in well put, coherent text, with manners and all but there goes the whiplash.
All the kkthxbye, go away, never come back, dont let the stairs... etc etc.
I guess there are people and there are door knobs. Heh.

Playing the demo i was unable to beat it with a mage class until i ran around the entire time kiting the ogre in one very large circle until the rest of the party finally killed the ogre. All that i had to do was enough DPS to continue to draw the ogre's aggro while the rest of the party killed it. While i was happy in that i finally beat the ogre in the demo i was not happy with the way i was forced to do it. Running around in a big circle for 5 to 10 minutes was not entertaining,

Holy cow. It took you 5-10 minutes to kill the ogre using a mage?
You're doing it wrong.

Ugh, some of the responses in threads like these remind me of why I hate internet forums. The disconnect of type makes everyone so freakin' rude to one another. The OP has valid opinions, in fact everyone has valid opinions, that is why they are opinions...not facts. I'm not terribly impressed with quite a few of the changes in DA 2 either. It is hard to judge a final product by a demo but if you have to buy the final product to try it out, then you are supporting something you had doubts about in the first place so it's a catch twenty-two.

The point of the trolling if you missed it in previous pages:
IT's okay to post your opinion in the appropriate thread/forum. To create a new thread for something that already has one is going to attract the bridge dwellers. IE, if I wanted to post my opinion of Lady Gaga's newest video in the Dragon Age II general discussion forum, I would be spammed.

That's pretty much what happened to me the first time. I loaded Beth with the heal/protect spells. It was an Ogre plus 4 or 5 spawn.

I did the same my first time. Gave Bethany all the healing spells and forgot she went bye-bye so I had to do healing using potions. I swear it didn't take 5-10 minutes, though.

I paused a lot in Origins, so that comes naturally. But you can be pretty sloppy provided you don't stand melee in front of the dude, tank things with your backside and or let the smaller spawns run amok. And use abilities I guess.BobSmith101 wrote...

I can see it being a bit harsh if you're unfamiliar with the combat mind.

Completely agree. No one cares what you choose to do or not do. I cringe every time I read a topic "Why I am not going to buy this game" or "I'm leaving these forums, and here's why".

You can be a healer but in the actual game you cant in the demo because, well, its a demo. If you cant defeat the orge on the demo be more tatical in your approch. Think about where you will place your party members and manage your health in you stats as well as your magic. In orgins it started off the same thing with healers, you couldnt be a healer at the start of the game until level 7.
Also, sometimes the smartest move is to run away so you can be at a better advantage.
Anyway

The reason people are being hostile is that the OP's opinions weren't all opinions, they were stated as facts and they were wrong. He/she was complaining about the lack of a healing mage, despite there being a dedicated skill tree. This is like someone saying they cancelled their pre-order of Mass Effect when they found out there were no guns, aliens or spaceships. The OP's statements that were actually opinions weren't stated as such, and were given in an insulting way. For example, some may prefer the slowler, less exciting shuffles of the DA:O combat animations because they feel they're "more realistic" (just like all the real sword fights they've been in, I'm sure) but the OP didn't come out with that statement, they just said the new animations are "honk kong chop suey flick combat animations", utterly failing to spell Hong Kong right in the process.Ryllen Laerth Kriel wrote...

So this is less like someone earnestly stating their humble opinion only for the internet rabble to descend on them, and more like someone coming up to you at a party and saying "I was going to buy that t-shirt until I realised only a ****got would wear it" and then you say "**** off". It's how it goes...

Then when someone decides to respond in kind with, say, taking a huge, strained dump on their trainwreck of a thread it MUST be because they disagree with the content of the post. It's also a bonus when they get in a huff about it.

I kid, I kid.
Don't blame the game if the concept of tactics escapes you, I played the demo as a mage and did not have to go kitting like a madwoman to kill the ogre. I also don't understand why you say the healer tree is useless and the healer mage has been removed, I find it rather similar to the old one and rather useful and I'm sure you can make a healer build easily, but that is, of course, a matter of opinion.
Good on you for saving your money though, if you don't like it, you don't like it. We just didn't need to hear about it yet again, I suppose.
