I think there may have been PC sales. But someone who doesn't thing something is worth $7 probably doesn't think it's worth spending a lot of effort looking for that thing to go on sale either. I certainly don't.
Why I probably won't buy DLC for DA2

I am with the people saying it is okay for EA and Bioware to put out an ultimate edition for people who never played the game. In fact, I am so used to it, I am going to wait for such and edition of DA2.
However, it is simply reality that games just get cheaper over time. In 2 years DA2 with all the bells and whistles will be on Steam for $19.99, regular price. The GotYE or Ultimate editions normally come out up to a year after the game hits the shelves so that's probably a big reason for the bonuses in such an edition. It just makes financial sense for Bioware to try to draw a couple more people in. If you really don't like it, wait like I will. Heck, if The Old Republic is as good as I am thinking, I may not buy DA2 for two or three years.

I concur with your point. I purchased some of the DLC and last night I wanted to get Awakenings to play before DA2. I notice the price is $29.95. Then I see Ultimate Editions for 49.95 that includes all expansions.
So as you state, If I buy just Awakenings, I've spent $80..and still have the other DLC to buy.
If I buy The Ultimate Edition I've spent $100 to get everything..and lost some money buying the main DA:O game twice.
It's quite frustrating..so what did I end up doing? Buying nothing..and it also even pushed me away from buying DA2 as well :\\

DLCs are like, what, 5-6$? Hell, I'd buy it at 5-6$ even if I got the game a year later.
It really isn't that much of a price spike.
5-6 bucks a piece. Which adds up to the price of another full, new game, even after a year. What the OP is saying makes perfect sense. Why the DLC is still full price when there are other avenues to get it cheaper and give that profit to another company is a foolish business decision. Especially with another game on the horizon, which means most fans will likely move on to newer content.
Oh... I don't know about that. I wouldn't be so quick to pull a statistics saying that many customers are not going to buy the DLCs, or not buy the game because of the DLC release timeframe. There are many I bet who buy the DLCs anyway, including me, because I simply have the money for it. I guess it boils down to the financial situation for each individual, and if you have money to spare and still refuse to buy the DLC, than you have to see it from their perspective... Don't know if you guy's got the memo, but the economy is still not in the best condition.

I actually did not buy Dragon Age 2 for this reason alone. I have not played the entire first game, and after the ultimate edition came out, I am not going to shell out for the rest of the DLC. I will wait till it is free, or say 15 bucks for all of it. Or, I just wont ever play it, and will stay away from DA2 et all altogether.
Its just a game, but fandom being what it is, they are welcome to do whatever they want with the prices. This is just how I deal with it.
NewYears1978 is correct in where I stand. Glad to see I am not the only one turned off by this. I would think they would release a combo DLC pack which included awakenings, for the price difference of DA:O and DA:O Ultimate edition. I would certainly be game for that.
