. DAO vs DA2 on PC isn't a leveled fight.

It is if it's filmed on the same computer.

The trip face animations were amazing, but doesnt hold much relevance here.

It's also from a none interactive cut scene so can be done with camera work

I think it does, it's relevant because we're talking about various graphical improvements, including facial animations. It's a benchmark in the industry so it's only like comparing a fantasy film to LotR or a fighting game to Street Fighter II. I'm not trying to put down the improvements made in DA2; I'm more excited about DA2 than I have been about any other game in years. It's like being a kid again. I'm just saying that a weakness in the game, considering identifying with the other characters is a huge point of the series, is that the facial and body animations are somewhat lacking - and it's great to see Bioware giving some love and attention to the series in that area.

Uh... What? You do realise that it's an in-engine scene, not a pre-rendered thing? That means they could inset dialogue choices into it and have different paths play out, just like in DA:O. Basically, Bioware don't put as much attention into that area as the guys who made Enslaved did. I don't even think Bioware used motion capture for DA:O, if they did all the actors must have literally crapped their pants before they started. The faces certainly weren't motion captured since you could actually see where one animation process ended and the next began, like a piece of heavy machinery being operated.

Have it set to directx9 then for the sake of comparison. Discussion resumed.

Give the new elfs something TO EAT. They look like they're close to starving to death!

They do look rather undernourished :? (and the funny darkspawn but that's an art style choice). The graphics do look good, not system blowing but overall very good.  But then again I liked DAO's graphics.:D

Hoping for a proper graphics comparison: DA:O PC full vs DA2 PC full.

The graphic comparison actualy isn´t fair. DAO graphics were designed with PC hardware and isometric view point in mind (recreating the look of the old infinity engine) ,while DA2 is optimized for consol hardware and 3rd pererson "action" view.

Then using a PC becomes moot. Gimping DA2 out of DirectX 11 doesn't fit your using a PC to "play both games to see what both games can do at their best". If you want a static, easy, and leveled comparison, Consoles are optimal being fixed universal hardware.
