Will there ever be a Mass Effect 4?

I know, some people think having it take place between the two games would be half assed, but, if they don't get lazy developing the story and new characters it could work, and we'd have an unsung hero saving people in the background while Shepard saves the universe in the foreground.
But, no more universe at war online stuff where you HAVE to do multiplayer missions to help get the best ending. Sure it can help and open up new resources or something, but, not everyone is a multiplayer fanatic (ie me).
Anyway, my 2 cents

Anyway the galaxy is forced to a mass exodus to a neighboring galaxy. And the game is about when they are trying to make a new life in this galaxy filled with other races. Shepard (or some other hero) is forced to try to either make peace with the natives or assits his galaxies forces in invading the galaxy. I see a game in there, lots of diffrent opinions, the quarians would stay on their ships, the krogan would forcefully steal any planets they wanted, and the turians would do anything to ensure their peoples survival. The quarians would laugh and say ''welcome to the club''. Geth would be like ''radiation? only a problem for inferior constructs!''. And of course humans would be caught in the middle.
Sounds plausible. right?

I think maybe a first-contact war game with a new protagonist might be fun, though I guess it would have to have fewer alien races in it.

The Reapers became so secondary for me while playing Mass Effect 3. I was more concerned with rekindling the flame with Jack (the chosen love interest) and granting my team-mates hopeful words of advice for the coming chaos.
I hope that if there is a Mass Effect 4, it's a fact finding mission and a reunification of certain characters. I hope that the game isn't so much an effort to prepare for an inevitable threat, but more a gift to loyal gamers in the form of casual threats but big answers for facing them. Without the Reapers, the races of the galaxy would likely lose interest in a galaxy wide alliance if not for the previous progress initiated by Commander Shepard. There are so many different avenues BioWare could pursue, I'll gladly pay $60 for a game that's sole purpose is to give me a warm fuzzy feeling for the questions left unanswered by the three games before it.

Mass Effect 4 begins ten thousand years after the events of Mass Effect 3. Depending on your choices through Mass Effect 3, Shepard will be remembered at this later date as the savior of humanity though opinions will vary between the other races. If you cured the Genophage, the Krogan will revere him/her, etc.
Efforts began immediately after the events of Mass Effect 3 to rebuild the capability to travel between solar systems immediately, communications between races remain somewhat dead as while we could not communicate with far away systems there were however refugees of all races stranded in various star systems.
Ten Thousand years later, Humanity finally created what they believe will be the first means in so long of being able to travel in a reasonable amount of time to another star system.
You find races attempting to rebuild, warlords and saints born of a lack of a dominant force looming on the horizon. Bringing the technology to other systems requires efforts to either stabalize or enrage the mood of the discovered populace, you could be the pioneer who founded the next galaxy wide alliance or use this opportunity to conquer the galaxy and live like a king.
Codecs are found along the way. Letters from Shepard to his chosen love interest, perhaps describing the aftermath of ME3 if you chose well at the end. The Quarians are by this time independant of their environmental suits, Krogans are (depending on choices made) struggling with under or over population.
It would be like rediscovering the galaxy all over again, finding relics of the past and feeling the echos of choices made ten thousand years prior. No imminent threat, just choices made to shape the galaxy as you see appropriate.

However, if there will shepard the ideal substitute for me may be JAMES VEGA, a fact I remember asking him where shepard comparison with what it meant for him to be a N7, and that his dream was to become a commander just like shepard.

kind of like lotro but with space combat as well as planetary combat
sure the relays where disroyed at the end of me3 but that does not mean that scientists from the various races could not design their own versions and fortify them each relay network built of each race would have a different archetecture

Q) Do you think the reapers would have retreated to dark apace again?
A) NO WAY! it would bore shepard!
prehaps they goto the places of the milky way where the galatic comunity never explored
there was mention on me1's codex that some of the relays where left inactive by the galatic comunity as they would chart the destinations before activating them (this is the reason for the first contact war) it could be possable that the inactive relays are not destroyed because they where inactive thus leaving a part of the old galatic network infastrusture intact
While the areas where the relays where destroyed devlop their own spacefaring infastructure
the reapers then comeback but this time to warn the galatic comunity of a race that did not use the mass relays and devloped in a way that the reapers did not control then the reapers get distroyed by this race who where smart egnoth to not use the mass relay network

What I hope to see in Mass Effect 4:
·
Squad mates that are not of the common alien
races. For example: would really like to see a Citadel Keeper squad mate, still
never had a Batarian, a Vorcha squad mate would be awesome, a Collector, Yahg
(what race was the old Shadow Broker?), definitely a Rachni (would have to be a
queen or a bio-engineered Rachni (like Grunt), because only the Queen can
speak), or a Varren pet that will fight alongside you. I used mostly villainous alien
races, because when I got Legion on my team (ME2) I was ecstatic. Also, a Volus with
a short –man’s syndrome would be awesome to have on a team and it would be
comical.
·
When is Joker going to get cyborg legs so he can
fight with the team? People would heavily favor that, just to have the voice of
Seth Green joining you in battle and wise cracks would be a plus to lighten
serious situations during battle.
·
Better romances. The romances didn't feel
sincere. Also, allowing Shepard to have polygamous relationships would be
greatly welcomed. I know, I know…in ME2 you could sleep with Jacks and another.
ME4 should, for comedy sake, allow a
relationship to unfold with a Volus, Krogan, Hanar, or Elcor. Maybe, make the relationships more adult as well.
·
I was disappointed with the mission journal in
ME3. When I pick up an artifact/item that someone needs on the Citadel, please
tell me that I have it and it only needs to given to complete that side quest. Half
the time, I had no idea if I had already picked up their item and spent much wasted
time wondering around on the Citadel, walking every floor to see if someone
would pop up.
·
Renegade Shepard is too soft. The Renegade
option choice doesn’t match what he actually says in dialogue options.
That is all for now. If I think of more, then I will post
again.

Control and Destroy wont be much of an issue and you can write a common story for both of them as long as repaers are not coming back.
However Sythesis is a problem. Synthesis means every character after the events of ME3 must be part machine and part organic, which will result in an entirely different story and character relations.
One possible option for a sequel is to go to another universe - which I dont think is going to work out well.

going to another universe might work especially being introduced to new species. I like to have all characters to return if possible

The same goes for Shepard and Ashley's kid or the kids of Shepard and any of the LIs being the main character, not everyone romanced the same character, picking one and making them the player character would be a slap in the face to all the people who romanced the other LIs
The most you should see is a cameo of your Shepard's child, like a one minute cameo with a human who has Vakarian as a surname or a turian with Shepard as a surname (who says a Garrus-mancing FemShep has to take his name?), a news report of so-and-so Williams son/daughter of acclaimed Spectre Commander Shepard
And even then, not everyone sees their Shepard having kids with their LI so even that may be too much, so instead "So-and-so Vakarian/Williams/Alenko/T'Soni/Lawson/Zorah* niece/nephew of acclaimed spectre Commander Shepard etc etc etc" Citadel/Omega/whatever news report

Any company that makes promises like the ones they did for Mass Effect 3 and then breaks their word to the paying customers who's cash fuels that company should have to suffer the consequences.
Put it this way... If you paid a company to build you a new house and when they presented it to you, you walk in the front door and see the most beautiful and well designed house ever but upon walking to the 2nd story you find they didnt install a roof and the plumbing is not properly hooked up anywhere in the house............
would you ever go back to that company to build you another house?
(hell no you wouldnt)

Also, if I remember correctly, Shepard did "die" at the end of ME1. Cerebus rebuilt him. You find out more about the difficulty Cerebus had creating or bringing him/her back to life towards the end of ME3. It is a Science Fiction Fantasy game. Your telling me that they can't bring Shepard back to life? However, it would be way too difficult to develop a ME4 that incorporates the different endings. Massive story and dialogue branches.
I agree about not using Vega. I really didn't like him. I am surprised anyone would even suggest that. If they had to continue with a different character it would have to be Garrus, but unlikely because it doesn't give people the option to play a female character (something that the ME series has always done). Although, I would thoroughly enjoy playing as Legion or EDI. Or how about the same story told from the Collectors perspective? Just not how Dead Rising did it.
I think I already know what is going to happen if the series continues. It will be a prequel, when the Protheans ruled the galaxy. This will give Bioware a chance to show the primitive beginnings of each alien race and allow multiple other "dead" alien races to enter the picture. We have never heard or seen the full story behind the Keepers of the Citadel. I wonder why?

at the end of ME3 N7 ending were Shepard is alive couldn't they make it so that Shepard has to go rescue Joker and the others while on the way fighting the last elements of Cerberus and maybe even rachni, also i think they should make an RTS were you do the galaxy at war but you can still have the RPG storyline elements
Maybe they can add some single player dlc that takes place after you "wake up" in that 'secret ending'?

Yes, but then the title may not work well. ie 'Mass Effect' - This was the phenomenon/technology used by the species in the current universe. I doubt if they use the same technology in another universe.
On second thought, whats with the name anyway. As long as the game is good, they can give whatever name they want

Also, they can have other games...look at the Halo Trilogy. Was supposed to end after three games. Then they had Halo Reach and Halo EDST (maybe one more game...i could be mistaken, i don't know lol), and then 343 continued the Master Chief Saga, which is great. But i think BioWare AND EA both are smart enough to know that Mass Effect is too good of series to just drop it after three games, and they'll make more. Maybe a few side story games before they go back to the Shepard Saga, but they'll make more.
At least I hope so lol this is just my opinion.
