Look guys, first off: HUGE fan of BioWare and new to the forums. I don't think you can get any nerdier than me but from reading this there are certainly a lot of people like me. Second: of course BIOWARE wants to do a forth game. They didn't just make the third games ending like that for NO APPARENT REASON. They are setting the stage for something bigger and better.
BioWare likes to create characters that we will have emotional attachments to, like the Warden or Shepard. Now, yes, EA is known as the videogame Satan, and with good reason. They (not necessarily ALL EA's fault though) butchered Dragon Age 2, they rushed it and got rid of a character we COULD HAVE loved. BIOWARE DOESN'T DO THAT.
They make characters with the same equivalence as Master Chief, Marcus Fenix, Arbiter, Nathan Drake and even Kratos; characters that drive the story and are essencial. Besides, the signs are clear in the ending of Mass Effect 3. I will NOT go into details, seeing as how some haven't beaten it, but for all of you fans, look at the game in a cinematic way, like watching a movie: With that ending, you would expect a sequel. No questions asked, and with the same people. Meaning one thing: BioWare is clever in the way they made the ending, meaning that the "fixing" DLC means, not the ending, but the NPCs surviving, combat dialogue, more dialogue options, and more conversations with squad mates abord the ship or Citadel.
Sorry for the long post, but I have beaten Mass Effect 3 five times and have come to this conclusion, and lets hope, for the games, fans, and BioWares sake, that BioWare listens to the fans and pushes EA to the sidelines on this one. Make us proud to play Shepard just a few more times BioWare.....
