like with DAO i hope a modder makes a no spider mod i mean just by replacing the game model with something else as i cant stand spiders even in games why cant all games come with a no spiders option but regardless since i preordered the signature edition i look forward to this charcter plus hes got a scottish accent which is nice among the many english, america and canadian accents common in bioware games.

Usually, assuming that someone would be celibate just because they were forced into the Church is a bit naive; how many Popes and Cardinals had children? All the same - I like the idea of a second son who would take his oath seriously even if he had taken it against his wishes. Ridiculously noble and romantic.

I guess I'll have to wield daggers ... no party needs two kick-ass archers ...

Did you read the short story? He has the chance to leave before he takes the vows but he has a change of heart. It is a very amazing story actually. I am glad that they have a strong religious person in the game that can't put religion in a decent light. Like Leliana.

Yes, I did read the short story.  He was being forced into a celibate and constrained life, which he would have unwillingly endured rather than trying to get around it.  I admired that.  He went back inside because he was afraid he'd be "useless, aimless, selfish, alone", not because he had a vocation.  It's not a brilliant calling for him, it's a safe cage.  And the minute he gets a better purpose, he's out of there. 

Edited to add:  the story had to end with him going into the temple, because if the video preview is to be believed, that's where the DLC starts.  But it's pretty clear that it's not where his nature lies.  He feels trapped.  But he'd rather be trapped than aimless.  He's not "a strong religious person".   Strong religious people run towards something, not away from it. 

And I assume you meant   "that can't CAN put religion in a decent light. Like Leliana."

Question: According to the short story, Seb's family rules/ruled over Starkhaven. What is Starkhaven? A castle or another city? And what is its relationship to Kirkwall?

I'm just wondering if this guys going to end up as a rival to Hawke or not.. especially with the 'help him reclaim his title, or have him help you' bit.

I don't know what's up with the BW marketing department. Promoting DLC BEFORE the game has shipped upsets and angers a large amount of the potential player base. Alienating your customers is not a sound marketing plan.

Maybe folks here love it because they are hardcore fans. But go look on other forums. People hate it when this is done. This will lose you sales. People feel cheated, like they have to pay-per-level.DLC after the fact is ok as it is an add-on. But promoting it before just make it look like you are selling an incomplete game and then charging people more if they want the complete version.

I pre-ordered months ago, so this DLC will come in my signature edition....I think. But many people don't.

i just re-found my receipt from gamestop and it turns out that i preordered the SE w/o even realizing it. f*** yeah! can't wait to get his quests
