Bigger they are, the less scary they are for me (though kudos on the art design of 'em.. very nicely modeled and textured).

Ever since an old game many years ago of pencil & paper D&D 3.0, where my character was killed by a small spider the size of a tarantula. Some damn Drow was flinging them out of a bag at the party... I paid them no heed as they swarmed me since I figured their damage on me would be minimal.. and I had a damn good Fortitude saving throw... so I focused on the Drow instead... lo-and-behold I got bitten (as I expected)... and I critically failed my goddamn fortitude save vs poison...

We won the battle, but our cleric was out cold.... some 6 hours later I suffered catastrophic CON damage from the poison and died before the cleric could cure me

Ever since then, the smaller a spider is in a game.. the more I fear it... even though games these days make small spiders puny and no threat, heh.

Nothing thrills me more than that prospect.

My entire party overwhelmed and only Hawke can save them, but I'm too busy whimpering.

I thought overwhelm is being cut off from DA2. So your party is safe^_^

I'm not an arachnophobe, but... damn, the spiders were definitely scary in DAO, and it can only get worse with DAII, it seems.

Maker, a broom won't do any good against a spider of that size. It'd probably grab the broom from Hawke and proceed to beat him/her with it, into a bloody pulp.

Does video game spiders really freak people out so much??Really? I get all the phobia thingie but its not like its going to crawl out of your monitor or anything. Call me arrogant but I think people are overreacting(I act like its not common in Bioware forums).

You know, I bet that picture doesn't show everything. There's bound to be at least six more spiders like that on the ceiling, just waiting to descend upon the party with a loud screech.
Because they just HAVE to screech. It's such a spider-like thing to do (it isn't), and makes them a lot less scary (it doesn't). -.-

It just makes me more aware and paranoid about the real life ones. And it moves so similarly. I can't help it, and I haven't complained/over-reacted about anything else. Just the hateful spiders.

I don't think it's exclusive to Sebastian DLC... there were many spiders in DA:O so there's bound to be in DA2 as well. Sorry.

Yeah, somehow a mass murder standing infront of me in a game doesn't do anything. Doubt I'd be as calm in real life though.
