SO arachnophobic. Really, it's bad. A friend once placed a very realistic looking fake tarantula on top of my fish tank, and even though logically I knew it was fake, I just stood there hyperventilating, unable to move. I hated the spiders in DA:O. I can't watch the Shelob scenes in LOTR. Now I am very nervous about the spiders in DA2.

I don't think it's exclusive to Sebastian DLC... there were many spiders in DA:O so there's bound to be in DA2 as well. Sorry.
Here's hoping that the giant spider is a boss/queen and that the regular spiders are no bigger than they were in Origins.

Yeah but you dont understand. I mean, im perfectly aware of the fact that I need shock thereapy for how bad my fear of spiders is. Just that screen shot makes me feel freaked out. Im not like that with anything else. I could face a whole pit of snakes, but dont put one spider even remotely near me.Pacifien wrote...

I could deal with the spiders in Origins cuz they werent particularly large, but this sucker is massive.

If I had to choose between a spider the size of a hippopotamus jumping on me and eating my face and someone stabbing me in the face with a sharp object, I would EASILY choose the latter.
Even the DA:O spiders were huge, and something I'd easily pass on in favour of a random psychopath intent on doing unmentionable things to whatever part of my body it is that catches their fancy.

I'm not so sure. My sibling screams and run away when she meets a minuscole spider, even if it's dead.

You guys are all missing the critical thing.
It's not about the spider jumping on you and eating you, it's about what Shelob did to Frodo in Lord of the Rings...
After all, who DOESN'T fear being put in a cocoon, paralyzed, and becoming food at the TIME OF CHOOSING of the spider?

Yeah. Sorry, arachnophobes. Dragon Age II is going to wig you out a lot.
Realtalk : How difficult would it be to put in a menu option to simply replace all spider enemies to spawn something else, just bandits. Yes I know it would break immersion but I'd consider it an accessibility thing.
Yeah... also remove big heights, snakes, fire, water and clouds. I heard there was a cloud-phobia, amazing really, the human brain.
Come on, deal with it.

Not particularly large? I'm sorry, what scale are we measuring with? Because any spider that could reach my face without any significant effort while still standing on the ground definitely counts as too large.

At least the fear of spiders or snakes is somewhat justified, there are many poisonous snakes and spiders.

Please don't say that!
I'm also claustrophobic! Trapped in cocoon, paralysed in a cave by a giant spider...
ARGHHHH!

Sorry, but even I CAN'T resist this..
Just be glad I'm not showing you pictures of REAL 5 foot long spiders... or tiny ones a centimeter long that can kill you with one bite.
NEVER go to Australia.

Actually, I do understand. Once, a woman wouldn't even enter the store I was working in because there was imagery of spiders playing on the television screen, from a Discovery Channel program. She just stood right outside the door while her friends browsed the store, and she truly looked torn between her desire to join them and her absolute freaked out reaction to what was playing on the screen. Unfortunately, while I was understanding, I wasn't all that sympathetic as I then proceeded to describe what was happening on the screen to a little kid with much glee in my verbiage.Purple People Eater wrote...

But to be fair, I also completely wigged out during the scene in Peter Jackson's King Kong where the guy was completely torn to shreds by giant flukeworm creatures. Because that is my phobia, that flukeworms will mutate into giant beasts that can swallow me whole. I should be grateful, I suppose, that my phobia is much less likely to happen in the real world than coming across a spider is for arachnophobes. I'm unsure how I would react if it played out in a game, though. Ridiculous screaming, cringing, and cries for my hero to just kill it already, I suspect. (Set to auto-attack, of course.)
