I pray that these spiders don't have overwhelm. It was creepy enough in Origins when they were the size of dogs. Being the size of..epic proportions is going to make things ugly...

I think the poor spider here is just misunderstood, all it really wants is a hug

You'd think Sebastian would be sitting there going "GAH! ****! I'M RANGED! I'M RANGED!" instead of staring down Shelob's gullet.

I remember back before DAO when the
first screenshots of its spiders came out, we had to warn some
arachnophobes about the shots, and they were FREAKING OUT.

So this is probably worse.

Everything is bigger and better with the sequel! It's a bit cruel of BW, tbh. ^_^

Average person swallows a spider every night at least... it's not rare.

Yeah I don't think so. I've woken up by a spider walking on me when I sleep a couple of times, because they tickle. Why would they be able to stealth down into my mouth to get me to swallow it?

Spiders here are cowards. I don't know what kind of suicide spiders jonte is living with, but the ones here avoid humans at all costs and certainly won't stroll into your nostrils in the night. Also, if you sleep with your mouth open, you deserve whatever gets in. :P

I'm wondering if the spider-hiss from DA:O is more impressive now with the new spider size. Or if we can get some spider-theme weapons due to size (leg-staves? fang-daggers?).

Maybe he's waiting for it to open it's mouth so he can hit it just as it's about to nom him, to make sure he one-shots it.  He's clearly ice-cool under pressure

Pffft. After seeing real camel spiders in Iraq anything in a Bioware game looks cute and cuddly.

Arachnophobia is nothing... the chance of encountering a spider each day is pretty slim.

I on the hand have a messed up phobia of heights... by heights I mean if I am so much as more than 2 feet off the ground, I get dizzy and panicked. I cannot stand on a chair without breaking out into a sweat.

Although I do control my phobia, I suppose I had to learn to do so, otherwise I'd never be able to descend staircases, stand on a curb in the street, etc... so I can do all the things normal folk do, but deep down inside I'm fighting a messed up battle to control my fear and diverting a lot of my focus, concentration and sheer willpower to function normally (try to ask me to do basic math while walking down some stairs, and I'll fail horribly since 90% of my brain is focused on not panicking over the fact that level ground is a significant number of feet below me).

And if you're wondering why I have this phobia... it's cus I fell out of my 2nd story balcony apartment as a child and broke quite a few bones :)

I feel for you. It must be horrible to fear heights that much, especially if it affects everyday things like using stairs and if it has resulted from such a traumatic experience.

However, it is hardly fair to say that arachnaphobia is 'nothing'. All phobias are phobias.

Heh I was jesting, I would not actually denegrate someone elses phobia (I even sort of get the phobia of spiders... as Bees... annoy me.. wouldn't say I'm afraid of them, but I get a bit.. on edge.. around them)... unless it's a phobia of clowns.. thats just... dumb. :)

Was merely constrasting my exceedingly frustrating phobia that plagues me several dozen times a day :)

PENNYWISE
Not quite as bad as giant spiders, but he still gives me the creeps.

They were discussing those the other day on the radio. Along with 'tick' (?) spiders. The ones that lay eggs in you.

I have a very good reason for never wanting to leave the safety of Britain, and those things are it..

Oh, sorry for misinterpreting your words. I fail at reading sometimes. Image IPB

I feel for everyone who suffers from a severe phobia, although as you say, I'm fortunate enough to encounter spiders only sometimes, instead of everyday. Although I have a bad habit of thinking about them too much. Paranoia.

I'm not afraid of spiders, even though I still get a tingle/shiver in my body if one surprises me.

I kinda have a deal with the bugs around here. You don't mess with me, I don't mess with you.

It works out great. They don't attack me and I don't attack them.

Hell, I even saved a spider's life once.

I was washing my hands in the sink and a little baby spider was stuck in the sink.

It couldn't climb up and out and was struggling to not get caught in the water.

So I took a little stick(can't remember what it was exactly) and I pushed it gently up and out of the sink.

It turned around, looked up at me, sort of thanked me(at least, that's what it looked like), turned back, and scurried off.
